Motor runs greats, warms up then backfires thru the trottle body. Everything has been checked. best mechinics in my area can't figure it out.
Wrangler stolen. Recovered in El Paso TX. Driven back to Phoenix AZ. Ran great all the way back. Shortly developed backfire thru throttle body. Everything checked, fuel quality, pressure, spark plugs, wires, cap, sensors. ECM. New injector system placed on, made no difference. Dummy downed to wiring, shorts, thru firewall grommets. Can't figure it out.

this sounds like the timing is out, backfires, have you tried checking the plug wires, spark plugs, and did you reset the code after installing the MAF sensor?
You want to check your timing for accuracy and then check all plug wires for burned or cracked ends. Also check the single coil tower where the coilwire connects for very small cracks. Then check the inside of the disrtibutor cap for the same small cracks. Throughout this process I'm certain you'll find the culprit. Thanks, Dana
Start with the basics...meaning check the spark plug wires and spark plugs. While under the hood, inspect all hoses for a vacuum leak(s). Then turn the ignition key on-off-on-off- on...leave in the on position and write down the number of flashes the check engine light indicates....2 flashes = #2....pause.....3 flashes = #3.
Let start from here. Are you able to perform engine repairs or diagnostics???
ok this is the best way i found to do these
1 drain the coolant
2 remove the air snorkle fron the trottle body to the air box
3 disconnect the heater bypass pipe that runs across the front valve cover
there is a 8mm bolt and a 13mm nut at the trottle body remove the hose at the front and the 2 at the trottle body
4 disconnect the throttle cabe and cruise control if equiped remove the wiring the TPS IAC then remove the throttle body bolts 13mm CAREFULLY REMOVE THE TROTTLE BODY AND THE GASKET SHOULD BE OK TO REUSE if it tears replace it
5 now you have acess to the thermostat remove the rad hose
6 there are 2 13mm bolts the top one remove all the way the bottom one has a slotted hole remove about 80%
remove the thermostat housing
7 replace the thermostat
8 REASSEMBLE IN REV.ORDER and the O RING SEALS lube with a silicone grease
9 after the vehicle is all assembled LOOSEN AIR BLEED SCREW ON THE BYPASS PIPE
10 refill cooling system till coolant FLOWS OUT THE AIR BLEED IN A STREAM CLOSE THE AIR BLEED
11 top up coolant and coolant over flow bottle
USE ONLY GM DEXCOL if you need to add some IT IS ORANGE IN COLOR
12 start vehicle and adjust your heater controls to HOT AND MODE TO VENT let vehicle run till AIR COMING OUT OF VENTS IS HOT not just warm that will insure there is no air locks in cooling system
hope this was help full
what is the fuel pressure reading, sounds like low fuel pressure, you should have 60 PSI at idle and more when you throttle the engine up about 65 PSI, it should NEVER go down.
have you checked your spark plugs and distrubratercap make sure that all your plugs are calibrated to your mfg. spefications, it seems that you may have a little timing problem also
is this a 6cyl?
have you had the fuel pressure checked?
have you had a combustion chamber cleaning done?
have codes been read?
coolant sensor and air temp sensor checked?
