Hello, you will need to replace the blower resistor to correct this problem. the resistor is mounted under the passenger side of dash. it is mounted next to the blower motor. it is held in place with two 5.5 mm screws

Check all fuses using a test light. If good, turn on fan and check for power at the blower motor connector. There all the wires there as each one is for different speed. If good, blower might be bad. If no power, check switch itself for continuity. Keep me informed.

SOURCE: 2002 monte carlo blower motor doesn't work

Go on the passengers side under the dash you will find the blower motor. You may have to remove the insulator panel to see underneath.Usually a couple of screws or plastic push pins. There`s a connector that goes from the blower motor to the blower resister. The problem is usually the resistor. You will need to check the connector out very carefully because they get hot and melt.If this is the case you need to replace both the resistor and the connector. Most dealerships stock these parts. Hope this helps.Good luck.

I have a 2005 Monte Carlo LT. When I turn the heat on high I only feel a very small amount of heat and it is not blowing. I am wondering if it is the blower motor or blower motor resistor? I know people...

If the blower works on lower speeds then its likely the fuse or wiring or relay. Attached is an 2001 Impala Diagram, couldn't find the Monte online. I assume they are similar. If the relay doesn't pull the switch to the other side then you would never get full speed. (Full speed does not go through resistors normally) If you go to a Library they will let you copy their Chilton's Ref Books for like 25 cents per page. But call first and make sure they have Chilton's or similar book.

In my 2003 monte carlo my air just one day decided to work only on high, it's still cold.

U will need to replace the blower motor speed control resistor. It is located next to the blower motor in ac air ducting.

Have you tried the heat also? If neither blow out, chances are it's the resistor on the blower motor. Mine went out in my 2001 Monte Carlo about two weeks ago and sure enough it was the resistor! The part runs around $35. Installation will vary depending on where you take it to.

Hope this helps!
