is there a problem? trucks have less insulation than cars so noises are heard, dont mean there is a fault. When i start my shogun i hear clicking of relays and the four wheel drive solenoids.
Have you noticed any actual problems?
Check for loose/ dirty battery connections. Check condition/ tension of the alternator drive belt. It would appear that there is a loose wire some where that is causing an intermittent power flow to the cpu
Sounds like you need to have a leak down /compression test done on it. It could have some badly leaking valves, or a blown head gasket. How does your oil look? How does your antifreeze look?
DIY engine rebuild is about 900 bucks.
If all your connections are clean and sound, then your car should be able to run without a battery. Start the car and disconnect the negative terminal. If it stops your alternator is faulty. This would explain dim lights that are draining the life out of the battery instead of being alternator driven. Same as the dieing while driving, the battery can't keep supplying power forever without being recharged by the alternator.
If the alternator is ok, the battery needs replacing. Repeated draining of batteries kills them.
Certainly check for a sticking throttle and idle air valve if fitted.
If nothing is found it could need the engine management defaults restoring. Sometimes disconnecting the battery for a few hours or overnight will reset things and sometimes diagnostic equipment with the right software is needed.
