SOURCE: find front airbag sensor 2003 Sierra
The front crash sensor is on or near the radiator support under the hood, it is a little square box, one question why do you think it has a problem? it is a mechanical device, a steel ball bearing sitting in an inverted cone, when you crash the ball bearing breaks free of the magnet, that breaks a connection and signals the airbag monitor to fire the airbags, it takes a 5+ MPH impact to set all this in motion, there are side impact sensors as well, the physics of these are a little different, they are measured in G force of the impact, hope all this doesn't bore, one note the fuel that fires the air bag is made by the same folks that make rocket fuel for the solid fuel boosters of the space shuttle.

THE AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE IS ON THE FLOOR AHEAD OF THE CONSOLE.BECAREFUL YOU CAN CAUSE AIR BAGS EMPLOYMENT ACCIDENTALLY.THEY ARE DANGEROUS.THE DEALERSHIP HAS TO RETRIEVE AIR BAG FAULT CODE.
SOURCE: front air bag sensor location
both left and right impact sensors are located on upper radiator support
SOURCE: i had a fender bender that pushed in front bumper
you should only have to place the front crash sensor and both air bags and you may have to replace the clock spring behind the steering wheel it usually breaks after an impact i would recommend you have a qualified technician do this work

AIR BAG (SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM)
General Information
The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) is designed to work in conjunction with the standard three-point safety belts to reduce injury in a head-on collision.
WARNING
The SRS can actually cause physical injury or death if the safety belts are not used, or if the manufacturer's warnings are not followed. The manufacturer's warnings can be found in your owner's manual, or, in some cases, on your sun visors.
Depending on your vehicle, the SRS may be comprised of some or all of the following components:
The sensors in the car are designed to detect a severe frontal impact. When at least one of the primary crash sensors and the center cowl safing rear air bag sensor close at the same time, electric current flows to the inflator and ignites the chemicals.
The chemicals burn rapidly in the metal container. This burning produces nitrogen gas and small amounts of dust, both the gas and dust are cooled and filtered during the air bag(s) inflation.
The air bag(s) split the trim covers open while inflating. The air bag(s) then rapidly unfold and inflate in front of the driver or passenger.
After the air bag(s) have inflated, the gas escapes through holes in the bag(s) and the they will deflate.
