Simple fix i've done several of these cars. Remove all 4 coilpacs,
inside there are 4 connectors, take a needlenose pliar and twist the
connectors JUST SLIGHTLY reconnect with dialelectric grease and you are
good to go!
i used to replace plugs and coilpacs till i found this simple solution
the connector is bad sou we are using a new area to make connection by
twisting the connector. works like a charm!
I can almost assure you that you need to replace the transmission valve body. It's a $2000 + job by your local mechanic or 4000 from dealer. This is a well known problem with these cars. Ive replaced 2 of them on two different cars in the past year.
Check with VW to see if they issued a recall on the window regulators. They replaced both of mine about 2 years ago based upon a service recall. I had a 98 VW Beetle.
Tell me more, please. Have loaner Beetle, and driver headlight has fallen down inside housing. Found this link, and hoping to open it and put it back together. Did not find anything on a recall on Internet.
