I have a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer ES 2.0L that has a problem starting. Battery is fine & if you push start it it'll start 4-5 times with the key then not start. Replaced starter and the problem remains

Intermittent problem starting with key. Manual ****** so you can push start it. After that it'll start w/the key 4-5 times and then won't start w/key. Push start again and you get 4-5 more key starts. Replaced the starter and problem still exists. Could it be a starter relay or ????

When you start the Lancer, does it actually turn over and start? Or does it sputter while you're pressing the start button?

This is what I would start with. First, I'd find your fuel regulator and follow the vacuum line that leads to the engine - then unplug that. Find some extra tubing or rag that you can replace that plug with to keep it sealed. Then, if you're car starts running, you'll know its just a bad regulator.

If that doesnt work, the second thing I'd try is pulling off the air-intake and spray some brake cleaner in there to see if it will start. If that works, then you have a fuel leak or clog somewhere thats preventing your fuel from reaching the sparkplugs.

Hope this helps-

SOURCE: Service Manual for 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer ES

It may or may not have the information you are looking for, but there is a Chiltons repair manual for all Mitsubishi and Toyota models from 2001 to 2005. It is available new for about $90 or it is generally available on Amazon used for under $20.

SOURCE: 2003 mitsubishi lancer es fuel filter

ok your fuel filter is located under the car on driver side about half way back......you will need to remove the fuel line from both sides of it witch is a 14mm wrench if im not mistaking....then you will have to loosen up the holder that its in witch is a 10mm wrench...then it should slide right out....if u have any questions just post it

I have a CS 2005 MITSUBISHI LANCER AND MY CLOCK, RADIO, INTERIOR LIGHT AND CENTRAL LOCKING HAVE STOPPED WORKING. ALL THE FUSES HAVE BEEN CHECK BOTH INSIDE AND UNDER THE BONNET AND THEY are fine

Your vehicle has similar signs that some VW's showed in the early 2000's. Depending on where you live, here in the Midwest, we found a main wiring harness that ran under the inner edge of the driver side, under carpet was exposed to salt and water during the winter. This caused connectors to brake and cause many issues.

As for your issue, seems that all these components may be sharing the same electrical circuit and therefore not working properly.

I can't enter the radio code in my 2005 Lancer

On your radio your preset stations each have a number 1,2,3,4,5,etc. The first preset station represents the first number in your code. Lets say your code is 1212(example) then you would: [press #1 preset-1 time.] [press #2 preset-2 times.] [press #3 preset-2 times.] [press #4 preset-1 time.]
Once you've entered your code press the cd button.
Good Luck.
