Your door needs to be replaced I would kick ,pry, pull what ever it took to get door open. The switch that turns out the light is the door latch itself. Either take off the kick panel by your left foot and disconnect wire or cut hole in door and disconnect wire.If a battery goes dead it will never come up to full power again have it replaced under insurance

Dash light says drivers door is open when it is not open and stays on.

Possible defective door ajar switch. Usually located internal to the door lock mechanism inside the door. I have had some success spraying WD40 inside the lock assembly with the door open and then opening and closing the door several times.

1998 F-150 Door Ajar Light Problems

inside the doors is a Small twist in button switch on the door latch assembly that turns on the doom and key buzzer, they stick and make a poor connection, this causes your problem, i have replaced 100's of them, u will have to detrim the door to get at it. The switch is about $10 and u can get it from most parts stores, here is a picture. remember there is one on each door latch.

2003 Explorer door ajar light stay on when all doors are closed

I had this problem on my 2003 explorer and took WD40 and gave the lock mechanism a good dose where it meets the clasp on the door jam. Then open and close the doors a couple of times to get them working. They get gummed up and sometimes have a tendency to stick.

95 ford windstar door ajar stays on and interior lights stay on and not able to find door ajar sensors

These switches are inside the doors attached to the door latch assembles. If you know some one with a scan tool you can go into the body computer and see which one is showing open when all the doors are closed. The most likly one is the drivers side door or the two in the rear gate. I've replaced those the most.If you don't want to replace them you can unplug them and the lights will go off. Hope this helps. If you need more info let me know> Thanks Dan
