i presume you mean bluetooth if you do use the touchscreen to search for phone using phone menu and the discover me option, if it has not got a touch screen and your phone is a jaguar fittment the audio head unit may need reprogramming to tell it its got one by your jag dealer
Not all X-Type Jags has factory installed the phone device, common in 2002´s, even if the radio panel has a phone button, better try anothe bluetooth device.
If there is no mobile phone Paired to the
vehicle system and the SIG screen is
displayed, Pairing may be performed as
follows:
Select Phone Mode (if not already
selected).
Use touch-screen keypad to enter the
following digit sequence and press the
Send/End button.
The following sequence performs exactly
the same function, but times-out after
approximately five minutes, ##1#*#.
(If you are not familiar with the Pairing
process, this sequence is NOT
Recommended, because of the time-out
period.)
At the SIG**** screen the vehicle system
is waiting for communication with a
Bluetooth equipped telephone.
Check that your mobile phone is set to the
Jaguar Bluetooth system, using the menu
functions on the phone. Refer to the
handbook that was supplied with your
specific mobile phone.
When Jaguar device is found on the
mobile phone display, the phone will
prompt you to enter the pass key (1313)
on the mobile phone keypad.
When the above operation has been
completed and the phone is successfully
Paired and connected with the vehicle
system, the SIG* screen will be displayed.

If your car has the Bluetooth phone option fitted (most models with the touch screen 2006 onwards do) You may get the message SIG instead of Phone connected.
Nothing special, it is a motor just like every other car, just costs more to maintain. Most people don't touch them, some are sealed so nobody does touch them. You can use any oil in there, 10-w 40, should do. I think the manual calls for 5-w 30, but that is on the thin side, depends on where you live. Or how hot it gets outside! Florida is hot!! 7 qts to change. Hope this helps.
car has 4 wheel disc brakes take off the rear pads and rotors u will see a set of shoes on the inside of that adjust thiem up and u should get alot more hand brake
Is your bluetooth in Jaguar discoverable to devices?
I would suggest the Jaguar may not be transmitting a signal - In the 2007 Model X Type - There is a specific code ##3#*# Followed by Call button - Which then changes from Phone to SIG *****
Have you tried the above? The Quickguide Jaguar Manual does offer the code specific to Make of Car - It is near the last page of the book.
