2001 Suburban Horn not working

The remote key lock/horn alarm works to make the horn honk ...but when you push on the steering wheel center horn honking pad the horn will not work. Every gas auto service station tells me to take to the dealer....no one wants to deal with the airbag going off. Anyone know what a dealer charges?

Dealers charge approximately $75-90/hr. labor. The horn pad repair, labor-wise, can easily run 2 hrs labor plus parts. Unfortunately, the horn buttons in the pad are flimsy and break easily. This could result in more repairs later. An alternative fix, if you are not fussy about appearances, is to nount an external horn button on the dash within reach of the driver. This is legal for inspection puirposes in MOST states (check local laws). You can cut into the horn wire where it comes out of the steering column, or you can ****** it at the horn relay, whichever is more accessible. The horn button can be obtained from any auto oarts store, and will be a more permanent repair. Also, no airbag worries. While working with the wiring harness, avoid any YELLOW wires. These are normally airbag wiring.

My horn stop working and when I lock the doors with remote key it wont sound when you lock the doors Forgot to add that it is a 2012 Ford Escape Horn does not work from the inside either. Is it a fuse

Does the horn sound when you press it on the steering wheel if not check for a blown fuse to horn and then if ok see if you have power to horn and then if that is ok run a wire from the battery to the horn and see if it honks.

Horn keeps honking

Either the horn itself is grounding on something or the hornpad on the steering wheel is making contact when it shouldn't be. Or maybe an aftermarket alarm is causing the problem.

My horn quit honking on my 2006 chrysler pt crusier..

find the horn ,it should be at the front possibly behind the bumper ,run a wire direct to it and see it works ,if it does work then its the wiring in the steering wheel ,but as this vehicle no doubt has an air bag then entrust this job to a garage because if you get it wrong the air bag will explode ,expensive job to say the least

Keyless remote locks the doors but the horn doesn't honk.

Your lock settings were most probably changed from your remote unit. By pressing both lock and unlock keys together for around two to three seconds you can switch between silent mode and horn mode. Hooe that helps...

Can't lock the drivers door because horn will start to honk when ever it wants...

It sounds like you have a short circuit in the steering wheel horn pad. You can have someone unplug your horn until you can have it fixed. That is if you don't need your horn. This is a totally temperary fix. Because of the airbag in the steering wheel, you should bring it to a qualified mechanic. Sorry
