I have a 99 GMC sierra 1500. check oil level light came on and I noticed oil leaking around the oil filter. I assumed it was maybe the rubber gasket off a previous filter so I did an oil change. Well wouldnt you know after 2500 miles the check oil level light came on again and I noticed the oil leaking around the filter again. Any ideas?

Sometimes heat and vibration can cause filters to loosen enough to leak if not tightened enough when initially installed .

SOURCE: 2007 gmc sierra 2500 IAT sensor

Well, the IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor is located on the air intake duct between the filter and the throttle body (Assuming you have the 6L motor). The wires are easily visible at the plug that connects the sensor to the wiring harness. That's the easiest place to access them.

SOURCE: 2004 gmc 1500 sierra heater control stuck on

Defrost is the default position. Is the control a autyomatic temperture control unit? ( you set the temp and select automatic) if it is the system is completely electronic. You push the buttons and the control still says defrost or can you select something else and the control shows it but it just keeps coming out the defrost? If the control changes and the air comes out the defrost anyway and the cheack engine light isn't on, then the problem can be blown fuses or an air door actoater not working. Does the dash emit a clicking sound? if it does with the covers off the bottom of the dash reach around touching the different pieces till you touch the idem that is clicking. this is an acutor motor, or blend door motor. they have gears in them that wear out and break the motors aren't repairable and you just replace the ofending motor. the door that is moves can be stuck. and may have to be freed up with blaster, WD40, or other rust buster till it moves easy. maybe after getting the door to move smoothly you can get the old motor to move the door wiithout having to install a new one.

SOURCE: 1990 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup. Windshield wipers, Cruise Control

May want to look at replacing the wiper circuit board. It is located on the firewall adjacent to the wiper motor and has a some what square black cover with 3 torx screws and wireing harness pluged into the side.We had a truck that every time you washed it the wipers would stay on until it dryed out.You can try removing it and spaying it down with contact cleaner just watch the brease on the two contact tips.Well hope this helps.

Oil leaks from around oil filter

remove the oil filter and check that there are not 2 rubber gaskets in place (one in the filter and the old one that was stuck to the engine and came out of the old filter.) refit using a smear of grease ?oil on the rubber gasket and do up till it touches then about a 1/4 more turn . Do not over tighten or it will leak

I have a GMC Sierra 2008 and the light of the engine come on and The Oil Pressure is to low, can you tell me what is going on Thanks

Sounds like you are triggering the check engine light due to low oil pressure. I would check your oil level and see if you are ok with oil. If you are then go to the nearest parts store and have them run a diagnostics (free) and tell you what the code is reading. That way you know what is going on. I have a feeling though that your oil pump is going bad and you are going to need a new oil pump

Coolant leak 05 denali

I will assume as usual that it has the 5.7L engine. The common cause for a coolant leak in these truck are the intake manifold. It either leaks externally or internally or both this is a common problem with this engine. You have to replace the intake gaskets. This a fairly big job. First check your engine oil if the level has risen and if the oil smells like anti freeze or looks like a milkshake kinda foamy then the chances are good that your intake is leaking. If all else fails you will have to do a coolant pressure test and you will seee the leak probably. It could also be your cylinder head gaskets but the most likely cause is the intake gasket. $100.00 for the gasket kit and about 5-6 labour. Change your oil & filter before you start it after you replace the gaskets. Then if your leak goes away change your oil & filter again about a week later to ensure you get all the coolant out of the engine oil this is very harmfull to the bearings in the engine.

I have a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500. 4.3 liter engine. I brought it to autozone and they put the gauge on it and got two codes P0140 and P0300. I had my distributor cap replaced, ignition rotor, plugs ,wires,...

Clean mass air flow sensor with a nonchlronated brake cleaner, install new air filter and check all vacuum lines for leaks then check for vacuum leak around or at intake manifold.Code P0140 is for mass air flow sensor code P0300 is a multiple misfire which more than likely is a vacuum leak possibly intake manifold gaskets leaking.

Hi...2008 gmc sierra crew...check engine light came on thought maybe was standard just before hitting 30,000 then noticed low oil pressure ( 20 ) then noticed clacking noise?

Sounds like an oil pressure problem. The clacking sound is most likely the lifters are collapsing due to loss of oil pressure. You may have a failing oil pump.

Ihave a 2000 gmc sierra that has a oil leak down

check for 2 steel cooling lines going to the radiator for leaks at the transmission....but more than likely the oil is coming from the valve covers...if you fix it use the rubber gaskets. if it doesn't leak much just hose the tranny once in a while for it is a rough and it is expensive undertaking at a garage.....it pro is not the rear main seal-which is also not a picnic....keep a check on you eng oil level.....luck to you
