Bad section of wire right before the connecter and bad connecter to the trunk fuse box. How do I fix it without pretty much having to run all new wires?
There is such a thing called a quick connect crimp type wire connector you can get at your local auto parts store. If you are out with the car pull in and show the parts store guys or gals and they will set you up with what you need. They can even order you a replacement connector if they think you need one. You'll not have to replace all your wires.
The best way of doing it is to solder the wires together and also solder the new connector, if needed, into the wiring as well. alot of peopl will just use "quick connect" connectors. this is only a temporary fix however. most parts stores carry the most common GM and Ford connectors. Wal-Mart sells the soldering tools as well as the solder you would need. they also carry different colored "shrinkwrap" for the wires to further protect them from any other damage that may occur.
