then you must measures the new circumference and buy the new belt using that.
no the diagram is not the same. after all it is not a normally sold car like that.

I used an old belt (normal) then cut it it down to get the fit
measured but gee the tension'er must be in mid scale for it to fit right
v6 is only one belt (gates belt dot com)
K06 13/16" x 88 1/8" wide/circum.
as seen here (no SANS PS there) try 10 more makers ? no me.

and must not hit pulley 8. only you looking at that can answer it.
#1 is GEN and running gen down hits water pump8

That is not the way to fix it. You remove the AC Pump and install a bypass pulley. It keeps the same belt, route and tension.

Can I bypass the AC compressor pulley with a shorter belt?

Yes, this is possible. However, unless it was the AC compressor clutch and pulley which failed, bypassing the AC pulley is unnecessary. Simply disconnect the wire to the AC compressor clutch and that should do the trick.

There are some bracket kits to bypass A/C pulleys but unknown for air pump pulley. Will help by saying when you get a new serpetine belt be sure that the grooves match the pulleys. What you have to worry about is the speed of the alternator and water pump and steering pump when the belt length is changed. You may over or under speed the steering pump and have too much or too little power assist at different speeds.

Easiest way to measure this is by removing old belt, (take photo for routing first) and then use rope to do trial routing. Once you get the spring on the idler arm to fully tension for rope you should be pretty close. Then slip off rope and measure length. Do not start engine with rope in place.

307's have a unusual routing, it's easy to get confused.

From back to front:
1) Crank - Water Pump - Air Conditioning
2) Crank - Power Steering - Water Pump
3) There are two versions, depending on how many grooves the power steering pump has:
(1-groove P/S):Water Pump - Alternator
(2-groove P/S):Crank - Power steering - Alternator - Water pump
4) Crank - Air Pump

Mine was doing the same thing. I realized that one of the support brackets for the power steering pump was brocken allowing the pump to pull slightly away from the engine moving the belt out enough to be cut by the other pullies. I hope this helps! Good luck!

that's not possible all of those vehicles came stock with power steering so all belt dimensions are taking the power steering pump into consideration,the only one that would change would be the A/C belt depending on whether or not your vehicle came with it or not,a used power steering pump should only cost just a little bit more then a new serpentine belt,hope this helps and good luck

Really don't need a diagram. Loosen the slide bolts on the power steering pump. loosen or tighten the pump by turning the jack screw (long transverse bolt) under the pump. Once the belt is tightened up, lock down the slide bolts and you are finished.

the serp belt is driven by the crankshaft pully and also has a tensioner may i suggest you check the crank pully it mayhave parted at the rubber damper and is spinning off line/back and forth also check the tensioner that runs on belt it may have failed or come loose

this is hard to exsplain without showing you a photo ,but i will try. first get the belt around the engine crankshaft which is the pully closest to the bottom and center of the engine. when standing in front of engine start to lead the belt to the right and connect to power steering pump then up to generator, next thare is going to be a smooth pully not groved like the others to the left,put the smooth side of the belt on bottom of this pully and continue left to the ac/compressor go around ac/compressor andstraight down to the belt tensioner , and then right over to the water pump which has a smooth pully not grooved. remember the smooth pullys will always carry the smooth side of the belt and the grooved pullys the grooved side of belt. the belt tensioner will half to be released by a serpantine belt tensioner tool sold at your local auto parts store. these instructions is for 3.8 liter engine, if you have a 4.6 liter engine it will be different, so repost stating that you have a 4.6 if this dont help
