Big problems ,check fuse in panel on dash in the side where door opens ,the fuse concerned is in the middle row about a third of the way down and its a 15 amp ,if its blown change it if it blows again its a dealer only job as the software involved is difficult, the computer for this car is under the passenger floor and if water gets in which it often does as its in a bad situation then expect an expensive repair. If water has got in rectfiy the leak and try to move computer as far upwards as you can on the length of the loom .and let it dry out.then spray the connection block with wd 40 to hopefully stop any corrosion of the terminals from spreading or getting worse.

Love it or leave it...

Given the Kelly Blue Book value ranging from $6000-$9300 based on mileage, I'd say you've gotten a nice run out of your A6 and its time to move on. In today's economy, you could do worse than use your 7K as a down payment on a new ride. It's always a tough call whether to repair a car that's been dependable or invest in a newer one. All in all I'd say you came out ahead and that investing serious money into a car with 165K is a risky investment. Best of luck to you and I hope I've helped with your decision.

Speedometer and odometer not working 92 audi 100

I had similar problems with speedos in two 1990 Audi 100s, it was some time ago, but the contacts on the circuit boards on the back of the speedo deteriorate and do not give a good contact. I bought second hand speedos, only to find they had similar problems, eventually it was very easy to fix, I shaved matchsticks to chisel points and pushed them into the circuit boards to add pressure on the contacts and improve connection. After that repair drove the cars for a few years and the problem did not recur. It was a long time ago and I cannot remember exactly where the matchsticks were placed but look for soldered points near the edges of the boards. Regards, Michael
