Buick Roadmaster" one TBI injector won't fire. Starts easily, no power

Only one side of my TBI injectors is firing. It's not the injector, when I swap the wires from side to side, the other side will work. To be a little clearer, the two injectors are each fired by a pair of wires, On one side red and green, the red and blue. Whichever injector I connect to the red/green wire to will spray. I have carefully checked the connections at the injectors, and that is not the problem. The injector with red/blue pair will not. Both injectors are getting power, but the blue wire is apparently not being grounded by the computer, or whatever controls it. The vehicle is a 1992 Buick Roadmaster with a 5.7 litre LO5 V-8.

Hey Triple Auto! Sorry I didn't thank you sooner for helping me out. You solved my problem. Actually It was even easier than that. One you told me where to locate the PCM, I just cleaned an jiggled the connection and it was healed. You were a lifesaver, thanks!!!

i would of considered connecting both injectors in series, that way if no injector at all now one is open circuted, or connect in parrallel and if a wiring fault and not injectors, then they will both open relative to ecm pulse/ground/resistance etc wont do much for ya economy though

YOU EITHER have a broke wire or a bad pcm

Testimonial: "What a great help! How nice that he took the time to follow up and help me solve this problem. We need more people like this. I guess it's my turn to help someone now."

That's my best guess also, but the blue wire disappears into the harness, and I don't know where it leads to, in order to do a continuity test.

96 Buick Roadmaster, misfire on #1 cylinder. Changed distributor, plugs, wires and injectors. Have spark, fuel and compression, still misfiring

Try swapping injectors. Replace #1 with #3. If ## starts to show miss fire, then you know it is a bad injector. Also look for a vacuum leak around the #1 intake manifold.

Injector not fireing

you have a TBI 8valve engine. just like my 91
the injector , not firing, so by guy method.
1: it dont click? (sonic ,stethoscope)
2: the noid dont flash. (use a noid lamp and win)
3: it dont squirte, watching it with eyes, cranking,

if the noid fails, that means ECU is bad or one of 3 inputs to ECU are dead.
if noid works, that means, the injector is cogged, it has 10 micron screens that are easy to clean. or there is no 35 PSI fuel pressure.

here is the page just for that.
  1. THE ECU IS PROGRAMMED to cut fuel if there is no spark preventing TV like crashes and burns. (and other fire reasons)
  2. the tests are all easy. no order but #1 is #1
  3. fuel pressure at spec.
  4. injector coil reads 1.0 OHMS.
  5. injector clean. (there is only one, so all hope is just here)
  6. noid lamp fails , so is CMP dead? or TPS TP pin stuck high or , ecu throwing code 41./42s errors, BINGO!

1989 caprice with 350 tbi injectors won't pulse anymore

If you have spark, the computer is getting the signal to pulse the injectors.
If you have power but no ground pulse, you may have fried the driver in the computer again.
You could get a used computer from a junk yard to test it.
There could be a short in one of the injectors or the harness at the computer, or a break in the circuit from the computer, and that could kill the driver in the computer.

The dealer first will need to duplicate the problem, then they will scan the system while it is occurring and decide what is causing the malfunction. Be patient and let them do there job, this may be expensive labor wise if the problem can't be confirmed easily.

1989 K1500 was running fine and just quit. Not getting gas but I can hear the fuel pump start when I turn the key on. took fuel line off of TBI and seem to have plenty of gas flow but nothing comes out of...

you need to have the fuel pressure checked with a gage and volume as if its not at the spec the injectors won`t open to spray enough fuel.also you should check the injectors for proper voltages and ground as if these are not within specs then the injectors won`t work either

I have a chevy 454 BB and it fires on 4365 but not on 1872. timing is correct and its getting spark but just wont run.

Check thr TBI (throttle body injector). The injector on the right side feeds fuel to 4365 thru the intake passages(follow the air flow pattern of the intake manifold). It sounds like you have a bad injector, either not firing or very restriced flow.

pressure underhood is good. i'd check the plug conection at the throttle body(injector).see that the injector trigger wires haven't been cut or crimped around the air filter.the injector can be removed from the body for cleaning, but you may want a shop to do that with an ultrasonic cleaner.does it spray at all when cranked?check all sensor connections too.

fuel to the tbi, but no power to the injector means the wiring or the computer is bad and won't fire the injectors.
