Possibly a stuck injector. Be careful, as enough fuel gets into the oil it will lose viscosity and then be burned leading to insufficient oil level and a ruined engine.
Keep a close eye on oil level.
Get it to the shop to have codes read and evaluated ASAP.
I currently own a 2003 isuzu rodeo that i purchased new in 2003 i recently changed the oil and was driving and heard a loud knocking / banging noise . I immediately pulled over and shut it off ,popped the hood and checked the oil only to find out i had plenty of oil. i asked a mechanic he told me to replace the oil pump and i did , but it still makes the same noise. it only has 80,000 miles what else could be wrong?
First confirm the oil level is adequate by checking the dip stick. If the oil level is okay you may have a partial blockage that is starving the oil line leading to the sensor. Missed regularly scheduled oil changes may result in this happening.
If sludge is the problem your dealer can recommend an oil additive that may clear out the problem.
You may also have a failed sensor as well.
what is the code coming up.? you can take it to a parts store and have it scanned for free. I bet the garage may knock something off or forget to plug something back it
If the oil has been changed, why are you putting more oil into the engine? Does the engine use/burn oil, or have an oil leak? If you have none of these problems, then you may be overfilling the engine which is just as bad as no oil.
The rod knocking is caused by loss of oil pressure. Did the oil light not come on? That light is red, red means stop. Do not start this engine again until the problem is corrected.
