I have a 2007 jeep patriot. It stalled at stop sign started ran rough. Parked came back drove it home ran u- scan code p0017 replaced crank and cam sensors still runs rough changed plugs were bad. I was...

code p0017 refers to crank/ cam oosition sensor bank 1 sensor B -correlation ===causes --wiring--CKP sensor--CMP sensor--mechanical fault.
It also refers to control modules, cooling fan--no signal===causes -- wiring--ECM.
If it has a timing chain then the the advice that it will not be the chain is good. So I suggest checking out the cam/ crank sensors and wiring

Car wont start untill i press on the gas?

Check your cam and crank position sensors. Check the fuel pressure regulator and then the Fuel pump itself. This sounds stupid, but go check the gas cap too and make sure it is on tight. Sometimes it's the little things..haha. The two sensors tell where the crank and cam are in relation to each other and TDC of Piston 1. If one of the sensors is out of whack...the whole timing process will be thrown off. Most of the time if the cam sensor is bad, the car won't start, if the crank, it will start but run like ****. They don't cost much usually and your car is old enough that they should be replaced anyway. The MAF sensor would just cause the car to run rough most of the time if it were faulty or dirty. But being how generalized those codes are, it's never fun to figure out. Hope this helps you :)

1998 Dodge Intrepid 2.7 -- After running for 30 minutes, the car starts and runs rough. Driving up to temperature it runs fine. After sitting for 15 minutes or so, when starting it runs rough and will...

it sure sounds like you have an EGR problem. This valve controls the flow of unburned exhaust gases and re-routes them too the intake to be re-burned. This valve is usually open at highway or cruise speeds. Not usually open at idle. If this EGR valve is open at idle, you get a rough running for sure just like a mis fire and will smooth out as your speed increases. I would get that checked out and if faulty, replace. Please keep in mind that this part is quite expensive new, but it is electrically controlled. good luck!

the crank sensor will cause intermitent dieing while driving and a no start,,,common gm issue,a p0355 is for the crsankshaft position sensor performance,,or lack there of performance really,lol replace the crank sensor,,it will not cause a rough running though it will either run or not with a bad sensor, you might have 2 issues but i know the p0355 is a bad crank sensor
