SOURCE: How do you reprogram a key fob for a hyundai coupe?

This came directly from my Hyundia service guy:

Unlock the car, get in and close all doors. Turn the ignition key to ACC, press the Unlock button till blinkers flash. That's it. Get out of the car and see if it works.

Good luck.

I have a 2004suzuki wagon and i have a ligth with a padlock though a car. The car wont start how can i resove this problem thanks jess

this may be an indication the the immobiliser is working and preventing the car from starting. Check that the battery in the fob key is good. Try and use a code scanner to reset the immobiliser in the CPU of the ECM. If there has been a disconnection of the battery at some time lately then that affects the immobiliser.

You should be able to reset the system by locking and unlocking the drivers door with the key.

How do i completely remove the immobiliser in a 2000 lancer and replace with older non immobiliser type ignition

i think this would be an expensive excersise, try removing the fuse to the central locking , because if you change the immobiliser system you will loose the central/power locking any way, i don't know what problems your experiencing but i've done this on our hyundai coupe because of immobiliser problems and unlocking drivers door manually ie with the key has cured our problem ,worth a try i'd have thought

Ignition lock cylinder

Tumblers are not lining up when you insert the key and turn. You might need to call a locksmith. When the locksmith makes you a key, keep this as the emergency backup (kept at a safe place at home) and use the copy made from this backup as your primary key use. When you make a copy from another key copy, the cuts are slightly off. As you make another copy from a key copy, the margin of error on the cut increases until finally, the key cuts don't line up to turn the tumblers, then you're back to calling a locksmith again.

Landrover not starting

Hi,
This is something that will only get worse I'm afraid.
You really need another key made to the original spec. By this - I mean a key cut to code - not just copied, that includes the immobiliser unit.
You can get one from a Land Rover dealership, but will be cheaper from a good locksmiths that cut immobiliser keys to code + program the immobiliser chip.
