Not getting fuel pressure

You could have a fuel delivery problem. Start by

• checking fuel pressure. Fuel injected cars are very fuel pressure sensitive. Fuel pressure is very important and must be within specifications. However, if the pressure is low, it does not mean the pump is bad.
• A plugged fuel filter, a pinched line, and low voltage at the pump can contribute to low fuel pressure. All three must be checked before replacing the pump.

I had same problem. That's when I found out 2 things: 1) some cars have 2 fuel pumps. A low pressure and a high pressure. Low pressure to get fuel to high pressure pump that feeds the injector system. And 2) After an injector system has been run dry, you need to "prime" the system. A real pain.

Could be a fuel pressure regulator or lost signal from crank sensor that gives inaccurate data.
The crank sensor is responsible for sending data to increase fuel pressure as a function of increased RPM. If the RPM reads low, then fuel pressure will be low.
Check fuel pressure.
Thinking that air pressure is affecting pressure regulator and compensating for a weak regulator diaphragm.

Your fuel pump is not supplying the correct fuel pressure, this could be due to a worn pump or a faulty fuel pressure regulator, Unfortunately due to the high pressures in these systems you will need to get someone with the correct testing equipment to test for you. When it is hot the low pressure means there is air in the fuel lines which evaporates in the lines when hot which is why it is not starting when hot.

Check the connection between battery and starter.The other possibility is low fuel pressure.

Fuel injected cars are very sensitive to proper fuel pressure. If the pressure is off, even by a few pounds, it will cause noticeable performance problems, or a no-start condition. To check for proper fuel pressure, you will need a fuel pressure gauge that is suitable for your type of system.Or you can also get the fuel pressure tested at local car garage,If fuel pressure is low then its a fuel pump and fuel filter related problem.

Check the fuel ,if the fuel is not empty then get the fuel pressure checked.If the fuel pressure is low then its faulty fuel pump or clogged fuel filter.When fuel pressure is low,the engine does not get require fuel at its required time period so the car turns over but due to low fuel pressure it stops.But if the fuel pressure is checked ok then other possibility is low voltage in battery.Get the battery checked.It is a 12 volt battery.If battery checked out ok then get the battery to starter connection checked.If the starter to battery connection is weak then car will just crank but will not get properly started due to faulty starter. ------- Thanks.helpmech.

sounds like low fuel pressure if you can get it started with starting fluid. You need to actualy test the fuel pressure.

Most common problem is low or no fuel pressure. You will need to get a fuel pressure reading and post back.
If there is no or low fuel pressure then most likly the fuel pump is bad and needs to be replaced.
