cORRECT. tHIS CODE DOES DEALs With emmissions. P1400 deals with the EGR valve. In case u are not aware, EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Re-circulation. What really this valve does is that it re-cycles some of the exhaust gases into the cylinder for combustion. The EGR valve might be blocked or has malfunctioned. It is advised that this valve changed or consult with a mechanic who is knowledgeable about this technology. a malfunctioned/dis-abled EGR system will cause the car to fail an emissions test, and may cause the EGR passages in the cylinder head and intake manifold to become blocked with carbon deposits, necessitating extensive engine disassembly for cleaning. So it is advised that u repair this ASAP

do you have a hole in the piston or gasket? If in the piston it is most likely from coolant or water. If water, could be a cracked head, or being sucked in through the intake and building up in the 6th cyl. I have a lexus that had a hole in the side of the motor and noon could figure out why. I pulled the head and found water... Put new block in and egr codes came up. Pulled EGR and found it was sucking in water, due to an exhaust leak that was allowing condensation to build and would not blow out once in the egr tube. If you face the same problem (hole in block) I am going to say too much compression. Could be from head gasket not being torqued properly and leaking cooland, cracked head, or wrong spark plugs-and worst case scenario which I have yet to witness, bad spark plug gap. Not likely on your car, i would think.
