Its hard to say without looking at it in person. sounds like you have a electrical short in the wiring systems or blown fuse bad switch. The heating element in the seat could also be burnt out and need replacing. best thing to do is locate the wiring system underneath the seat and test the current if any going into the seat heating element. if you do get voltage/current following, then the seat element is bad.

Thank you Rob, could we rule out the heating element in the seat due to the fact that neither seat: driver or passenger works. The rocker switch doesnt even light up when turning either of them on low or high.. Where would I locate the fuse switch (blown fuse bad switch). Is there any way for me to obtain the wiring diagram since it was an after factory install? Thanks again Rob. Rhonda

It should be located under the dash board with the rest of the fuse. Your owner manual should tell you the location. If the fuse is good, the next thing i would check is the switch. If the switch and the fuse is good, therefore, you got bigger issue. Now you have to trace and find out why there is no power flowing to your switch. If you know someone has a volt-meter, it will be easy to check if you have any power to the switch and fuse section.

Chevy surburban heated seat the back works on one the bottom works on the other both lights are on

Chevy has some issues when it comes to heated seats. I had mine fixed twice. When mine went out it was the drivers seat, then it was the drivers back, which I never knew was broken. I had it fixed and it went out again. There seems to be a routing problem where the wires go to the seat back and attach to the plug in pigtail of the heating element. Also check your manual of chevy specs. Believe it or not some seat never had a heating element installed both back and bottom of the seats. I refused to fix it again . If you do it yourself it is too labor intensive, if the dealer does it , it is too expensive and 9 out of 10 times they install it wrong and the wires get pinched between the seats when the seat is moved back or tilted forward...Sad!

03 blazer replaced new battery and now heated heats dont work and power seats dont work and key fob does not work

Some times replacing the battery shuts down the computer and you need to bring it up again. Most times turning the key on and off 2 to 3 times without starting the car will do it. If not take it to auto parts and they can tell you what you need to do. It's FREE Good luck.

Heated seat not working

The most common cause of this is that the electric heating grid in the seat is defective. To repair this the seat must have the cover removed and a new grid installed, you will likely need to replace the control switch at the same time, also look under the seat and make sure no wiring is damaged on the seat support springs and shorted to ground. The de-trimming (removal of seat coverings) is best left to automotive trim shop as removing and installing a seat cover is a real pain if you don't have the correct tools and skills to remove the retaining clips that hold the cover to the frame, they are called "hog rings".

Heated seats not working on 2002 Oldsmobile aurora

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Check for a broken wire connecting the heating element. A common cause for the heated seats to not work is a burned heater element. There is an element under the seat cushion cover, and one under the seatback cover. If either has failed, both will not work. Take the seat apart and investigate the problem thoroughly.

Determine if the front seat assembly heat element resistance values are within the specified range.
If the resistance values are NOT within the specified range, install a Front Seat Heater Package between the existing front seat trim cover factory heat elements and the seat cushion and back foam pads.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Heated seat 99 GMC Yukon wont work ,also antilock brakes engage

The problem is usually in one of the heat pads in the seat - the heating filament is probably broken and the culprit pad has to be replaced (big job). However, you should make sure the fuse is OK (check the owners manual for location).
When the brakes were installed, one of the ABS sensors was either not installed properly, the wiring is disconnected or the sensor has failed - take it back to the shop that did the work.
