This sounds like you have a problem with the starter solenoid contacts in the solenoid.change the starter motor as it comes with the solenoid and the starter sometimes goes bad afterwards.or you can buy just the solenoid and replace it alone.

Have a 1988 Landcruser sometimes when I switch on the ignition relay clicks engine will turn but will not start on turning key on and off a few times once the relay doesn’t click engine will start what...

possible problem is a weak fuel pump. The fuel pump relay will engage for about five seconds each time the key is turned to the start position. If the fuel pump is weak then there is nor enough pressure to fire the injectors until the key is recycled several times. You should connect a fuel pressure tester to the fuel system to see if that is what is happening. Try turning the key on and off several times waiting 3 or 4 seconds between turns and then all the way to start.

It sounds like you need a new starter. Your armature has few dead spots on it and every time you turn the key it moves just a little until you hit a good spot and then it spins and the car starts

Starter clicks but will not start 90 ej22 mat

If the starter clicks only once each time you turn the key, you need a starter. If it clicks mutiple times without changing the position of the key, your battery is lacking sufficient power to start the car. Try jumping the car before buying a starter. also make sure the engine is not locked up.

if an ignition switch fails, sometimes you can jiggle the key and it will start right up. its very hard to tell. but if you can start it by bypassing the ignition switch, then its the switch itself. go to this site for more detailed info--- aa1car.com/library/1999/cm119948.htm---this page should help. click on top link.

The problem is the starter solenoid. It will steadily get worse until it just won't start anymore. The solenoid has corrosion between the contacts. When you turn the key the contacts are not making connection. The corrosion will get a little worse each time you crank it.

2005 chrysler Town&Country clicks when attempting to start

If the click is one click then that points to the starter. Make sure the battery connections are tight. If it clicks like a machine gun then it is either the battery or a bad connection. Good battery voltage is 12.6 or more and 13.6 when running. I don't know tour skill level of electricity.

if it clicks one loud time then its maybe the starter. if its several little fast clicks then the battery is just dead enough not to turn the car over
