Where is a fuel pump relay location 2001 grand am

Check fuses #1 #2 #9 #10 #11 #12 in the battery junction box under the hood to make sure they are good

Check fuse #8 in the central fuse box inside the car

Most fuel-pump relay units are located under the dashboard near the steering column. In some cases, the unit is located in the area where the steering column is mounted or near the engine's firewall. The fuel pump relay is located under the hood near the battery.
Usually in a black plastic box. There will be some fuses and other relays in as well. It should be marked fuel pump on or under the lid.
Good luck. Replace with same relay.

th fuel pump relay is mounted on the right side of engine compartment by the strut tower

(2) Fuel Pump Relay

It is located in the relay and Maxi fuse box under the hood near the battery, both the fuel pump fuse and relay are in this box, the fuel pump fuse is a 20Amp and is marked #10, the fuel pump relay is is marked as relay #301.

There is also a fuel pump cutoff switch (triggered by an accident exceeding 3 G's)

The fuel pump shut-off switch is

1. why would you want to hot wire it?
2. fuel pump is controlled through the fuel pump relay
3. relay is controlled by the computer
4. if oil press is low or if the computer doesnot see an ignition pulse it will turn off the relay.
5. this is safety concern if the car is in an accident causing the engine to stall a bypass will allow the pump to run creating a poss fire hazard.

8. carefull jumper the wrong terminals and you may fry to computer.

The Relay - Fuel Pump is located: Under hood, driver side, front side of wheelwell, mounted in relay block.

in the engine compartment near the battery you should see a flat plastic cover with tabs on each end... remove that and there are fuses and relays under it. the fuel relay should be there.
