your description of the car problem indicate that you have a problem in throttle body

have you do any maintenance recently to car throttle body, or the problem come suddenly. if no.

if no maintenance done then i suggest to inspect engine intake
line ( from engine filter box to throttle body) for any looseness of damage, also you have to clean your throttle body by an experience tech. and perform idle learn procedure.

Yes the IAC valve could be the problem, or the throttle body could be dirty.
Is the check engine light on ?

It could be a bad oil pump, clogged oil pick up in he pan, or just a bad sensor.

Try checking your timing to solve the ping problem, your timing might be too far advanced. For the downshifting problem, I have this same issue on my odyssey, On the top of your efi manifold you will see 2 wires that control your throttle, One of them extends to the transmission and basically lets it know when you are pressing firmly on your gas pedal, telling it to downshift. I would adjust it so the cable has some more slack in it, therefore requiring a harder press on the pedal before downshift, and hopefully a sooner upshift. You can also slightly adjust idling problems if the van is running high while in park or drive while sitting. As for the gas vapor purge code, I would first try replacing the egr valve, its only a couple bucks and takes no more than 5 minutes.

Your alternator may be pushing to high of voltage.

RECOMENDATION:
-Have the alternator checked for high voltage. You can even measure it yourself with a voltmeter on the battery while car is running at a high idle and all electrical components turned off and fully charged the voltage should be 14.2.
-Check for a solid connection at the bulb, you should have to push the connector on with some effort.

The only way to adjust the odometer is to bring it to a dealership and have them do it. For the cost and hastle over 20000 (4 oil changes), I would recommend leaving it alone.

Cv joint is gone. I'm not sure what they would charge you. Probably a couple of hundred or more. There is an hour labour plus the half shaft, so..... Just phone around for estimates.

check your wiring for dirty connections or broken wires, you may have wires that are rubbed through or connectors that are not making full contact. you will need an ohm meter and check wires for continuity. a wiring diagram will be needed.

vacuum leak..look to area behind air cleaner to intake .. snorkel area first..spray carb cleaner there after you start it to discover vacuum leak.... this is a guess .. but a good one... check first for hoses off/ leaking intake air sources and let me/us know
