  • TI and TI+ stand for "Traffic Information". The letters are shown in the status line of the Control Display whenever a RTTI signal is received by the vehicle. Starting with March 2007 production, BMW has changed the text from "TI+" to "TI" to simplify the display. For BMW's made in 2009 and later 1, 3 and 7 Series as well as Z4, TI means that the service is enabled, even though broadcast and/or content coverage may not be available in the area you are currently driving. In short ti on your head unit (radio) means that you are able to receive traffic information should you want to.

  • Hope this helps.

I should say that you have enabled your head unit to receive traffic information even if you are not able to receive them in the area you are in. Having the ti symbol does not mean you should be hearing any traffic updates at the time it just means you will if offered in the area you are in.

    Regards,
    Tony

It could mean that you are low on anti freeze. Or if you do not have a temp gauge it could mean that the engine is getting hot.I would look in the owners manual if you have it and it should give you a much more detailed description of what it means.
