89 crx starts intermittendly

My crx has been fine except the check engine light comes on occasionally but if I turn the car off and on again, it goes away. Sometimes it won't come on for several days. Then today i had some trouble starting it. At one point it started then stopped. Later, I had trouble getting it to turn over. I've tried starting it several times since and it has started. What can this be?

1990 crx base model honda civic want start

I would suggest an ignition module. If it is a rough idle at startup I would check the throttle position sensor. You can check that by starting the car and unplugging the TPS. If the car runs differently then chances are it is working fine.

Check engine light comes on upon start up

Yes the shops technician got it right. as per the error code which you mentioned. These 2 codes are usually caused by a faulty crankshaft sensor (P0321) & possibly an ignition module (P1361). When replacing these parts part attention to the female electrical terminals in each connection. They will sometimes "spread" & cause an intermitten open circuit. Check each female electrical terminal with an opposing male terminal. There should be a small amount of "drag" when connecting the two of them. Thanks.Helpmech.
