Bad battery
bad ground and wires
alternator not charging
everything point to insufficient battery voltage indicated by the need to jump the battery

SOURCE: 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited 4.7 speedometer flips around when headlights are on bad, and rarely when they are not on.

Sounds like a "bad" earth on the dash head unit. Also check enging to chassis earths, gearbox to chassis, battery to chassis etc.

SOURCE: Dim dashboard lights and problem starting

Could be a loose or dirty battery connection, poor battery, or alternator. Check all the cables and connections to your starter. Clean your battery posts. Have your alternator and battery checked. It sounds like you are either running off just the battery or just the alternator. One of them is not right.

SOURCE: Dim Headlights. 2001 Jeep

seems like a power issue, you could try buying a new battery or take it to an autozone and have your voltage checked battery should be putting out near 13 volts.

P0601 error code

Internal control module (main computer) issue. Expensive to fix, so maybe try resetting, especially if it is not drivable. Have never done this on a Jeep, but here are steps: Disconnect battery cable (negative, then positive). Press and hold brake pedal for at least 30 seconds (ensures no residual voltage in system). Reconnect battery cables (positive, then negative). Start and run. Give it time (several starts and several miles of mixed driving) to re-learn.

did you jump start? if you did the car is getting all power from the host battery and the motor run, took cable off motor stopped which means your alternator is not charging.

Was fine started great then voltage hand went left abs light came on brake light came on dome lights came on head lights went off all panel lights went crazy blinking then jeep would not start without

Seems to be having problems with the alternator. Alternator itself can be bad, but also the voltage regulator, which sits inside the PCM (powertrain control module).
Don´t continue using with battery voltage around the 10V, because it will ruin your battery as well. Completely charge the battery with an external battery charger and let the alternator be checked out first.

Wont turn over but when i jump it it starts then

bad cell in the battery won't hold the charge, also check alternator, once the engine is running the alternator should keep it running even with a bad battery, chances are the fouled alternator caused your battery to fail also

Guages when crazy. Now won't even try to start.

You likely have it repaired by now but it sounds like a classic case of oxidized battery or cable connection (sometimes mis-diagnosed as bad battery but cured with new (clean) battery)

2002 4.0L Jeep Grand Cherokee

Sounds like an intermittent bad voltage regulator inside the alternator, although it could possibly be a loose wiring conecton. You are doing good by checking system voltage at the battery with the engine running.Check for clean tight electrical connections at the battery and at the alternator. Also check grounds.
