DTC P0305 Code - Cylinder #5 Misfire Detected
A P0305 code means that the the car's computer has detected that one of the engine's cylinders is not firing properly. In this case it's cylinder #5.

Symptoms may include the engine may be harder to start, the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate or other symptoms may also be present. Other tips to solve it in the previous fault code link.

A code P0305 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Faulty spark plug or wire
Faulty coil (pack)
Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
Faulty fuel injector
Burned exhaust valve
Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Running out of fuel
Poor compression
Defective computer

SOURCE: my blower on my 1998 volvo v70 xc is not blowing

The most common problem is either the blower motor or the speed control resistor. Both items can be accessed by removing the glove box and panel below it.

CODE P1171 SYSTEM TOO LEAN BANK 1 PART LOAD. POSSIBLE CAUSE - INTAKE/EXHAUST LEAK , FAULTY MAF SENSOR , FAULTY MAP SENSOR OR FUEL PRESSURE TOO LOW DUE TO STOPPED UP FUEL FILTER.WEAK FUEL PUMP.

I'll take it that your Codes are actually P1171 and P1132. The P1171 is: Fuel System Lean during Acceleration and your P1132 is, HO2S (Heated Oxygen Sensor), Circuit shorted to Heater Circuit conditions Bank 1, O2 Sensor 1.

Volvo V70 xc AWD '98 - fuel filter change

Brandonlo168,

The fuel filter can be located under the carpeted cargo storage floor at the rear of the wagon. Remove the four 10mm bolts, remove the cover. You will then see a removeable plate to the right just behind the rear passenger seat. Fuel filter can be seen through hole in hole. Replaced from underneath wagon. Be sure to make sure lines are fully inserted onto filter. Check for leaks. No smoking, extinguisher handy. Note arrow on filter for correct fuel flow.
