Does the distribution box always power on even with the ignition switch off because my 99 Plymouth Voyager Distribution Center box is giving up power even with the ignition switch off please let me know ASAP

Power is applied to the distribution box at all times via a red lead from battery to fuse #23 (40 Amp)...The ignition switch applies power through the clutch switch (Stick-shift)...If fuse #23 is not blown there should be power only at and through the fuse...However with ignition switch off there should NOT be power on the Yellow/Red lead of connector C-2 pin #3...C-2 connects to the power distribution box...using a volt meter ...ignition off...measure pin 3 for [email protected]

Hello! The (+) battery cable is touching chassis ground at one of two likely places...#1...At the connection to the starter motor...#2...at the underside of the power distribution center...There are two Red cables leaving the + battery post...One is going to the starter motor and the other to the Power Distribution Center...
First...Disconnect the (+) terminal from the battery..visually inspect the connection point at the starter motor...Insure it is not near or touching ground....Follow the smaller of the two Red leads to the distribution center...The cover has the word "Positive" and an arrow pointing to where that Red lead terminates...Check for signs of burning...Visually inspect the Red lead from the battery to where it connects to the distribution center...Remove and inspect the underside of the Distribution center for a contact point to ground...Send a comment with results...Guru...Saailer

I get no response when I turn the key in the ignition switch. If I turn the key in the switch there is nothing

two things would cause this a totally dead battery. or a loss of the ground. headlights are grounded to the body and run directly off of the battery. since your lights dont work this would point to a dead battery.to find out if the battery is bad or if it was caused by the charging system not working. try jumping the car if you can get it started here are a couple of simple ways to check the charging. one with the car running remove the possitive cable from the battery if the car dies the altanator is not charging replace it. if the car stays running the battery most likely has dead cells and wont hold the charge. the other way is to take a bolt or small ferous metal object and on the back of the altanator there is a round cap in the center of the case if the piece of metal your using will stick to that cap then the altanator is producing a charge and the battery is the problem. if no magnetic field is present then the alternator is bad and needs replaced

I have a 1990 Nissan 300zx 5spd manual wont start i don't have power in the dash and i replaced the battery and it still wont start unless i jump it can you help?

if it starts when you jump it and have a new battery, the altanator is your next step....next time you jump it, leave it run with the lights and accesories on, take off the cables, is it kills the altanator is not doing its job.

Truck keeps turning off while driving. Need to jump with cables for it to turn on

This should be an easy one its either your battery or your altanator or possibly some bad wiring. Most likely your altanator.

Tried to start my 2006 Titan KC and it appeared to "suddenly" have a dead battery. The gauges all went berzerk for about 5 seconds and then appeared to reset with clicking and buzzing under the dash. I...

the battery is only for getting the car started, when it is started the car runs off the altanator, if you were able to jump it and drive home but could not start is again the the battery might have a dead cell. and if you put a volt meter on it it will still read 12.6, but i bet if you put that same volt meter on the battery and turn the lights on it will go below 10 volts, if it does that the battery is no good.
