V70 xc 2002

This sounds like a problem with the ETM or electronic throttle module. You need to have someone with Volvo experience scan the engine management system for fault codes. Most likely you will have codes for the throttle module. This was a very common problem with 99 and newer cars. Volvo extended the warranty on the modules to 100K on the early ones. Still have issues occasionally with the later ones-just a poor design of the sensors for throttle position in the module.

1998 volvo v70 xc runs no power

The 1st things you need to do is have the engine control module scanned for fault codes and the fuel pressure tested for proper specs.

2001 vovlo v7o xc trouble codes p0014 and p1237

DTC P1014 - B Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance (Bank 1).
At engine start-up the control module checks that the camshaft is in the correct position in relation to the crankshaft. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-62 is stored if the control module detects the camshaft in an incorrect position on start up.

Possible source:
Camshaft cogs incorrectly seated
Incorrectly installed camshaft pulley
Contact resistance in the terminals.

Condition:
Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit
The engine misfires.

DTC P1237 - Turbo Control Valve
Looks like the turbo is not producing enough boost. Check the waste gate hoses and the waste gate itself to see if its bound up. If the waste gate is working right, I would suspect a bad turbo.

This is an advanced level repair. You may want to have Volvo do the diagnostics on this one. Your code is for low turbo boost pressure. The waste gate is a big silver actuator on the turbo. It has vacuum hoses going to it. See if they are all hooked up. Also see if you can move the lever that the actuator pushes on. If its jammed that may be your problem.

Check the chassey grounds, by the battery, starter and transmission. Clean the ground straps, removing where they connect to the car, wire brush these areas... any that you see, even check by the fuse box and computer. Reconnect and be sure so clean the battery posts too. Always remove the negative terminal first and install last. Be sure you have your radio code before removing the battery terminal cables to clean those.
