95 max battery new, today no problem starting, engine running ok on idle then, at 2000rpm motor bogs losses power. changed fuel filter, air filter good. Watched air intake at manifold, and reved up throtle cable, inspected and saw the intake door open and at about 2000rpm, it fluters closing, and losses power. won't go past 2000rpm, drove to and from work took a long time got car up to about 57mph, took a long time to get used to this. Can you please help me..
My 95 did this exactly to a Tee. After trying several things, like cleaning/replacing MAF, fuel injection cleaner to no avail, I ended up unplugging my battery overnight to reset the ECU. The next morning, I put cleaned old MAF and put it back on. Then hooked up battery. Started up, no bogging at 2000 rpms, no stalling, etc. The new MAF was an aftermarket that I bought on Ebay for $86. My car didn't like the aftermarket MAF, so I wouldn't recommend. Anyway, that was 2 weeks ago, and everything is still running good. Hope this helps.
Sounds like the throttle position sensor, My 95 maxima had the same problem.
So you hear any different sound from the exhaust?
sounds like a plugged cat.

My 1995 Maxima is doing the same. I'm thinking it could be a faulty MAF, but not sure. I read in other forums that replacing the MAF or in some cases, cleaning your existing MAF may do the trick. I am going to give the cleaning a try this afternoon and see if that works. If anyone knows a solution, please let me know.
