Have a 2001 trooper with 125000 miles, drove from kansas to texas and back just fine, now the dash is lit up like a christmas tree, TOD check flashing, check transmission flashing, check engine on constant, and abs light costant. i went to autozone and all signs pointed to vacuum leak? I had my dad look at it and he couldnt find anything wrong. now its shifting hard and revving when i stop. does anyone have any clue as to where i should start, I love my car and im not ready to give up on it!

Vacuum leak sounds right. It might be inside the booster. Try plugging the line to the booster to see if it idles better. Or listen carefully under the dash for a hiss when you push on the brake.

Sorry for the delay, as I went to bed. The booster is on the firewall in front of the driver. In other words, it is to the back right of the engine compartment as you look under the hood. You can see a picture of it here:http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/C...

The hose is on the tube that is pointing upwards.

thanks again, i checked it all out and it seems to be on solid with no breaks in the hose. could it be possible that the booster itself is bad. I didnt hear any hissing sounds and the idle seems to be normal.

Yes, inside is what I meant to say, sorry. So there is no hissing under the dash when you step on the brake? But the engine speeds up when you do it? Does the engine keep running fast as long as you hold the brake down? There is a diaphragm inside the booster that can tear, but you want to make sure that is the problem before replacing the booster, because they are expensive.

I have a 2001 Isuzu Trooper with intermittent dashboard illumination lights. The lights behind the speedometer always seem to work, but the ones behind the tachometer and temp/fuel gauge flicker are

Often this kind of problem is caused by s faulty ground connection.

If it uses the common type of 'Christmas Tree' connector, it will have one center screw surrounded by a 'daisy' with petals bent up at an angle and plugs attached to some or all of the 'petals.'

Try tightening the center screw and pull/push back on each connector.

I have an 02 Trooper with 128,000 miles. Recently I noticed my TOD check light flashing. It gave me codes 13,14,24. What should I be looking for?

code 13 is a oxygen sensor so i would say you should check it out see if disconnected or old and malfunctioning

Check light on dash panel under the torque on demand diagram and where do i add transmission fluid

I have the same problem with my '98 Trooper - the TOD light, that is. Took it to a good shop for diagnosis. They said the TOD sensor was bad and it would cost abot $480 for the part. We were looking at a hefty bill, so decided to do without TOD for now. Manual 4WD still works fine. They said that Isuzu's arrogance that the transmission wouln't leak leaves us with a tiny 1/4" check port to fill through. We got concerned enough, and had over 180,000 miles, that we took it to a transmission shop and had it flushed and refilled correctly. To be honest, we now have 230,000 miles and don't really see any ATF leaks.

4x4 light is flashing (TOD indicator)

this means there is a problem if it continuosly flashes
Short-circuit terminal 8 of the self-diagnostic
connector to GND to display the trouble code on the
CHECK lamp.
If no trouble codes exist, code “12” is displayed continuously.
If trouble codes exist, code “12” is displayed three times, and then other trouble codes, starting from the smaller code number, these are displayed three times respectively.

this is located behind right front centre console side trim..
