SOURCE: battery and brake lights flicker and headlights dim

check for aloose alternator belt, these are famous for the alternator mounting bolts breaking off and causing the alternator to become loose allowing the belt tension to back off and be loose enough to slip on high rpm causing your condition... at least check alt and battery voltage, especially alternator charging output, go to adiscount autoparts store like autozone or kragens and have then preform a free alt check... on car... please rate my help thanks...

SOURCE: Head Lights go dim, instrument panel goes dim when I turn on my Headlights

Does it go completely black or just dim? Most displays dim when you turn the lights on to make the display darker so its not too bright. GPS and other displays do this. Do you have any problems with any other of the car's electronics?

SOURCE: car won't start, light dim but headlights still on

I would start with getting your battery & altnator checked. remove them both and take them to the local parts house to be tested. The normally do this for free. The lack of power on the pedal is from a lack of voltage in the battery. If i was to guess i would say your Alt. is no longer charging the way it should.

Have the battery & charging system checked out. Then, based on what you find out, Go to www.hmaservice.com and register( Vehicle by VIN). Afterward, you have access to shop manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, etc. about your vehicle.

Headlight switch on makes tail light dim

there must be a short circuit which powers tail lights and brake lights. probably you have a dual filament bulbs which have both brake and tail light together. check for bulb, socket/or bulb housing and harness of that light.

Front lights ( Dims ) come on when I press break pedal

Sure sounds like someone transposed the power leads from the brake peddle and the light switch - or the ground is bad - and a back feed of power is causing this.
I suggest pulling the Headlight fuse to determine if that feeds the head or brake lights. Same with the brake fuse.

Ground feed back is most likely and most difficult to identify. A bad connection to ground - somewhere - can do some weird things to lights.

Look under the hood.
There is a large relay which should have some info about lights on it.

Ford Ranger 2002, electrical problem

You have a bad ground, look out by the battery for a bunch of black wires screwed to the body of the car, check that they have a clean and tight connection, scrap off any paint under the wires.
