While driving once it warms up the truck just shuts off similiar to turning the ignition switch off. all dash lights then come on as if turned to accessory. i have changed the ignition switch with no such luck. when it stalls everything flicks off then on almost as a power surge. im about to replace the pcm. thats what the dealership tells me is wrong. any ideas?
Your CPS is shot.. Camshaft Position Sensor.. Ford Recalled the sensor because it was fautly. 1 10mm bolt on the bracket, one plug and your on your way.
It will start right back up but then it just shuts back off.. and no the check engine light is not on and the pcm is coming back with no codes.
What engine is in it
do you have a power programmer installed
does the truck start up right away after it stalls, and is the check engine light on ?
yes the cps is only for diesels

5.4L v8 i was told its the PCM however i cannot find it anywhere in the truck have basically tore the interior apart trying to locate it. anyone know where it is at or have a picture of it?
isnt the cps recall only for the desiel motors?????
ok so if the cps is only for diesels then would my best bet just be replacing the computer. when i took it to the dealer it took 7 days to get back just from having them look at it. but the way it seemed was that they are just guessing. because they said the computer comes back with codes. just not saying anything is wrong. they did a bunch of tests not sure exactly what but they said that everything checks good. that is how they came to the conclusion that its the pcm thats bad?
2003 f150 5.4 v8 just stalls while driving, mostly on damp days. when try to restart the theft light flashes and odometer shows dashes. Also, when it first starts to stall while driving it feels like it is jumping out of gear and the gauges spin all the way to the end.
