I had this same problem on passenger side low beam--trouble was wiring from headlamp back to underhood fuse box located at rear of battery.

It's a bulb replacement. If it's anything similar to my Audi, there is a cover on the back of the headlight housing that you pop off. Then you can reach in, pull the wire connector off the bulb, and unclip a metal retainer over the bulb, and pull the bulb out. Installation of the new one is the reverse. Just be SURE not to touch the glass part of the bulb. Skin oils can cause a halogen bulb to burn very hot and burn out very quickly. If you do touch the glass, wipe it gently but thoroughly on a cotton cloth to clean it off before you install it.

SOURCE: Low beam, driver's side headlight

The low beam bulb needs to be replaced. Go to an autozone store as they will sell you the bulb, and even assist you in their parking lot with installing it.

SOURCE: low beam headlights keep burning out, 8 times on

If you visit many forums for Elantras, you will see that frequent headlamp failure is very common. It has been discussed over and over again and it is thought that always turning the lights off and on via the stalk switch is recommended. If you leave the light switch in the on position, when you start your car, the lights briefly flash on then off again as you turn your ignition to the start position and then turn on again as you release the key to return to the "on" position. This may be causing a power surge which creates stress on the bulb filament and can only be avoided by using the light switch instead of the ignition to power up the headlamps.

SOURCE: The drivers side headlight on my 2002 Saab won't

This is probably a problem with the orange headlight relay under the hood in the relay black box. Take the relay out and clean contacts and put back in. If does not fix, try a new relay or swap with another 9-5 to troubleshoot.

High beams work for both lights, 1 low beam does not

Check for power with a test light with the light connected. If you have power then its the ground. If no power then you will need to trace the wire back to find break. As I recall they did have seperate fuse for left and right headlight high & low beam. Also did you get a defective new bulb?

I have a 95 SC2. The high beam headlight on the passanger side does not work. Both low beams work, and when the high beams are turned on, the right side goes out completley. I tried a new light and then...

According to the wiring diagram, there is no relay involved.
The headlight switch provides the ground for the lights and they get power from a fuse for each side. So the high and low beam on one side is powered by the same fuse and the ground is thru the switch.
Could be the switch but chances are a wiring problem.

Have headlight problem 2002 chevy malibu v-6 on the dim side have electria current on both wires to the blub bright beams function normal

if you have power to both headlight plugs for each low and high beam filaments and the ground is good as you say the high beams function normally then you either have bad low beam bulb filaments, poor or dirty connection or you have a daytime running headlight relay on the car and that is the problem with the low beam lights.yes the high beams will work but not low beams if it is the relay.

Low beam headlight will not come on

Hi,
With the low beam switched on, see if you're getting power at the wire connection to the bulbs. If so, there may be a bulb grounding issue. If not, there may be a light dimmer switch issue. Just a quick observation but I hope it helps.
Good luck!

Low Beam Drivers Side doesn't work ... low voltage,

Power for the headlights on the Left side (High and low beam.) comes from the same fuse... The ORANGE wire and the ORANGE/BLACK are the same, they connect in the harness. If you only lack the 12v to make the light work connect them at the headlight assembly.

If your low beam also lacks ground the Left low beam ground is shared with the right low beam ground... Run a wire from left low beam DARK BLUE to right low beam DARK BLUE/WHITE.

If its not working now then your cursed, seek a witch doctor.

How can I change the headlight on a 2001 optima

You may have to take out the battery, there are 2 round gray colored covers that screw out located in front of your battery that correspond to the location of the head lights, one is for the high beam and the other is low beam. once the covers are off, unplug the wire that is attached to the blub, there is a retainer spring that holds the blub in, take each side and push down and out and the blub should come right out. be careful not to touch the new blub with your fingers, only touch the base.
