HEY GUYS MY 97 328I CONVERTIBLE WONT OPEN OR CLOSE THE TOP, AS RIGHT NOW IT IS IN CLOSE POSSITION BUT THE LIGHT KEEP ON BLINKING, i DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ANY MORE COULD ANY BODY HELP ME?

Check the tops hydraulic lift pump fluid level, if it is low check for leaks under the car in the rear.

As long as the trunk is open, It won't work. The top has it's own computer. Have the codes read. Takes a scanner. These have like 20 sensors and switches for the top and trunk. You can try to close the latch on the trunk with a screwdriver to get it to work. Another thing is there is a cover that pulls out . This has to be pulled out and latched in place. This will keep it from working also.

The parcel shelf is that flat area behind you head of the rear seat. Normally has speakers or junk on it. On hatch back cars it lifts up as you open the hatch.

quick way to adjust door if its dropped is put a jack with a piece of wood on the top and open door ajar and then jack the door up a bit then jump up and down on the sill till you get it at the right height to close easy but this is not the roof problem iam sure but?-¿-? i could be wrong as i dont know everything

1997 328i convertable. The lever was pulled under the left rear seat. Now the top will not work, light is blinking. I checked all fuses, assured motors are back in place and the light is still on, not working at all, what am I missing?

The most common reason for this is low hydraulic fluid. The noise is probably the pump running while empty. When fluid id present it dampens that noise. Behind the rear seat is the combination motor/pump/reservoir. With the top in the DOWN position, fill the reservoir with ATF and cycle the system a few times as far as it will go. Repeat until the reservoir will take no more fluid. If that works, it is only a patch fix. You must now inspect the lines, motor and cylinders for leaks. The fluid does not evaporate. Sounds like the sensor has faulted or the pump has become disengaged. Usually when the light is flashing it's a sensor. You can check for a pinched line or low fluid also. There is a manual lock overide procedure to get the windows up, it's in you owners manual.

No on sensor, either the motor went or the switch went, frist replace the witch, and if that does not work replace the motor....

i have a 325i bmw convertible and by mistake i pulled the release bar under the back seat and detached the motor for the convertible and know it doesnt want to open or close the convertible
