1989 olds cutlass ciera 3.3 stalling while driving like it is starving for gas after stalling it will crank back up and rev up but as soon as you put it in gear it starts jerking and stalling out. No check engine light and only does it at odd times does not matter if hot or cold. I sometimes smell an egg smell out of exhaust but I have not noticed it all the time. have replaced coolant temp sensor and spark module under coil packs and have let run and unplugged maf sensor o2 sensor and other sensors I seen under hood all one at a time while running. all that happened was engine light came on but the stalling was still there any ideas?

I would start more simply first. When was the last time the air intake filter was replaced? Also the spark plugs? I would also see if the car needs the fuel injectors cleaned, you can also avoid cleaning the injectors by every once in a while dumping in fuel injector cleaner or depending on your area the mid grade or high test gas dumped in once and a while can help, I'd say once per mo th is good. The rotten egg smell is a totally separate condition, or is a sign something is to happen, if you have noticed white smoke out the back, then there is a fluid leak that is also going into engine and needs to be fixed.

FUEL PUMP.
Have you checked the fuel flow and pressure?
If the fuel pump is over 160,000kms/100,000miles it's done.
Put in a complete assembly,if your mileage is close to above numbers you need a new pump anyway and it may (90% chance) will cure your rough running engine. The other 10 % is contaminated fuel and electrical, but as you have no codes I'll say FUEL PUMP.

SOURCE: 92 cutlass ciera not starting

Sounds like it could be the fuel pump or injectors.

SOURCE: The windows in the 95 oldsmobile cutlass ciera won't work at all

maybe the wire is severed where the door (drver dr) pivots. thats what was wrong with mine. there is a rubber boot with crinkles in it that hold all the wires together. you can also try replacing the switch board that controls the wndws on the drvr dr. hope that helps.

1989 Cutlass Ciera 3.3l Stalls, will not idle

if dies immediately when u put it in drive then whats happening is the torque convertor on transmission is lock and need to unplug the electric connector on the transmission cause that's all it controls, if dies in park u most likely its Idle air control valve on your throttle body, if it does it when fully warm ur injectors cause that .... just try to clean idle air control valve first and unplug transmission connector first u should be running better

I have a 1993 olds cutlass ciera.. the speedometer was working erraticly and i replaced the speed sensor and now the engine races and i have to keep foot on the brake and the speedometer still not wor

Are you sure you replaced the speed sensor in the transmission ?
You could try unplugging the sensor to see if that affects the engine speed.
It sounds like you disconnected a vac hose or a wiring harness some where. A large vac leak would cause the engine to rev high and so could a wiring problem.

Need to have your fuel pressure checked just because you can hear the pump going on doesn't mean it's running at adequate pressure

Stalls when hot

Try a crank sensor. It's just above the oil pan center between the engine and transmission. Look and see if the old one is cracked.
