Thanks, but its nit the tires. it also sound like a vacumm hose is off or something. But yes it does sound exactly like the tires are rubbing. It started while I was driving on the highway. It goes away under 60 mph. Its really loud.

ahan then it can be the air intake.. the sound coming from the intake can be very loud as i had the same problem in my escalade.. i fixed it by increasing the size of the intake....

Your tires are not rubbing your fender.... that's not possible unless you have oversized tires. Check your ABS out. Sounds like an ABS problem to me.

It might be because of the tires rubbing against the fender, as you speed up the tires expand so the can rub against the sides of the fender.

or it might be a simple brake problem, u can try getting your brakes serviced

99 dodge durango 5.9 with a 46re trany goes in

These transmissions are known for having problems unfortunately. If it drives in first gear thei it sounds like a broke spring in the valve body. If you are not familiar with trans repair this can be a task as there are lots of parts in the valve body. Also could be a bad solenoid on the valve body they have fine screens and get clogged real easy. On these transmissions it is best to change fluid as often as possible as they are tempermental!

Hope this gets you moving forward!

I have a similar problem

The sound could be related to the universal joint/s.
Or otherwise known as 'constant velocity' joints.

1999 Dodge Durango driver side window does not roll up nor down.

Remove the door panel and find the window motor Unplug it and using a separate car battery run cables directly to the window motor When you switch the polarity the motor will either bring the window up or down or if noting happened change the window motor and window regulator assembly.

DASH AND TAIL LIGHS DONT WORK

Check and see if you have trailer wiring on your truck. If so you do it may have a wire that is rubbed though the isulation and grounding on the body and shorting the circuit blowing the fuse. High resistance in a circuit is what blows fuses.
