That can happen for several reasons the least being the ecm. first thing is it could be a weak fuel pumpand the only way to check this is with a fuel pressure gauge. it should be between 17 and 25 psi. next it could be the TPS(throttle position sensor) this controls your idle. this is located on the throttle body has a weatherproof plug and is held with (2) screws . next is the engine speed sensor this helps the ecm adjust the fuel/air mixture in conjunction with the TPS,IAC valve,O2 sensor<and the egr valve. to pinpoint the sensor problem you have to have a diagnostic scan done. please rate this.......thanks

Truck 1990 chevy 4x4 5.7 motor stopped runing while driving ?check spark from ciol to cap from cap to plugs all good changed ecm turns over but does not start up what is the issue ???

3 things needed to make a motor run...Fire ,Fuel ,Air...You said you have spark so there is the fire .so to easily check for fuel just spray some carb cleaner in the throttle body ,and see if it starts then. If so then you need to figure out why you aren't getting fuel...Air is all around us so that one is easy...Hope this helps...

2000 Isuzu Rodeo (My moms truck), I used to do all mechanic work for her, until this truck, I'm not knowledged enough, with all the sensors and everything!) She said it just died while she was dri

I think there is a wireing harness running from the passanger side front of the engine accross to the inner guard then to the firewall, try bending slightly in diffrent spots while someone is cranking the motor. There is a wire in there that brakes & will stop it running. It happened to me & the mtor was cutting in & out but managed to keep it running till I got to wrk but once turned off that was the end of it. Mine is a 99 rodeo with 6VD1 3.2 litre engine

Truck was runing good. next day will not start .turns over good but will not fire put fuel in intake manifold still will not fire fuel pump is working this is a 1997 2500 4x4 5.7lt motor auto

Hi, first check for sparks by pulling a plug wire off and sticking a phillips screwdriver in the boot. Lay the screwdriver/boot down on the engine with the screwdriver shaft about 1/4 inch from the engine, and crank the engine to see if sparks jump from the screwdriver. If no sparks, suspect you may have a bad crankshaft position sensor, but first verify you have voltage to the coil using a 12 volt test light. If no voltage to the coil, check ECM-1 fuse. See diagram below and let me know if you have questions.

2001 isuzu rodeo 4x4 is their a reset switch for the fuel sistem.

Perhaps in the ECM/ECU, you would have to go without a car for a bit to send it off, though.

Physically, it only has a bleeder valve in the fuel rail, just underneath the plastic cover on the engine, follow the silver rail that runs across the front and goes back on both sides, it's on the right side, just under the left-side blue refrigerant valve cover.

I have a 99 gmc jimmy that doesnt like to start when the engine is any suggestions cold...sometimes It will crank but cuts right off.. it takes about 10 minutes to get it to start running. i have changed...

Could be a slow IAC motor when cold.Try holding your foot down 1/4 of an inch when cold starting,if it starts quickly, then it is most likely is a gummed up/defective idle air control motor.I would like to see the engine coolant temperature sensor readings also.

Where is the location of the FUEL CUT SOLENOID VALVE ON A 99 IZUZU RODEO,AND WHERE CAN I BUY ON?

i gather this is diesel engine.
the fuel cut solenoid is on the rear of the injector pump (left side of engine) there were a couple of different injector pumps some had 2 solenoids on pump but one is fuel cut solenoid.
can be purchashed from dealer, diesel injection service centres and several different spare parts outlets.

No power to fuel pump 1996 isuzu rodeo

Try tracing the fuel pump power wire from the tank back toward the engine. I've had a few Isuzus with corroded wires.

Runing too rich and black smoke

did you upgrade any of your fuel system components? if not you might want to at least check out the fuel sending unit and pump motor... you may be pumping the amount of fuel that the old engine wanted but your new engine doesn't quite want that much.. hope that helps
