I bought a Subaru Impreza STI 2009 model .. I imported it to my country and the car is Euro Specifications.. and all I know about is it is 2.5 L Turbo engine with over 305 H.P. and now it is due for an Oil change.. and I'm Little bit confused because the dealer here don't know anything about it because he dosn't bring turbo subaru to my country and the car that I imported it from Europe didn't come with the service manual nor any books.
Please help me on knowing :
What kind of the oil used in this car and is it Synthetic oil? and would like to know the velocity of the oil too.
Regards,
Mohamed

2009 Subaru Impreza STI 2.5 Turbo (hatchback) the new model.
I have a 2010 Sti 5 door and my dealer told me to use a synthetic blend for the first 5 oil changes THEN switch to full synthetic. The oil you use is dependant on the climate that you live in. A safe bet is to use 5W30. Brand is not really important. Castrol synthetic blend is pretty good.
Good luck, plus you can probably call a dealer in another city or drive to one......come on bro, its an Sti, they are MADE for wicked road trips!
Yeah, i use royal purple, 5w-30 on my 05. i lose a fair amount of oil (2 big turbos). and also txcs99, are you sure it's the same motor? i thought they upgraded a little
I have an 05 sti. its the same motor as the 09. you definitley want to use a high quality full synthetic oil 5w-30. check the level often because it is normal for this car to burn a little oil do to the turbo. especially if you start making performance mods.
