I have a 1987 Nissan 300zx.. the radio turns on and off at the radio and steering wheel... I can adjust the volume in both places but nothing else works...can't switch between modes...can't change channels ....I pushed n a tape thinking it would jolt it back to working now can't get tape out or rewind or fast forward or switch back to fm......and suggestions ....thanks......email me at [email protected]....

Pull headlight knob off, You have to pry the panel off with flathead screwdriver, then you will have access to the switch.

I would check for a blown fuse there should be one just for the fuel pump. If the fuse is good I would look for a bad or lose wire.

There are some small clips that need to be removed. So be careful with them.

I would think that the brake switch which is connected to the brake pedal might be damaged, causing it to always have contact. They are usually not very expensive. Please rate this if it helps. Thanks.
