Alternator was accidently shorted out, got new alternator and didn't work, when it went out naturally just put a new one on. checked fuses inside and out but couldn't find one for the alternator. I went and got another new alternator and it also didn't work. Gauge shows not charging and disconnecting from battery car quits. So is there a fuse somewhere that I need to fix as the guy at auto store said my old one is still good. Please help and thanks

SOURCE: blower motor is not working - is there another fuse?

if the blwers are not working it could be as simple as the fuse blown ifthis is not the case it could be the actual switch that has burnt out, i had the same problem in my ford focus i just replaced the switch in the dash (the on/off switch) i just went to the vehicle dealer, if this is not the case then the blower motor could be either burnt out or seized if thats the case (highley unlikely) then its a dash strip job and shouldnt really be done by an amature.

SOURCE: car will not start

For clarification:
When you turn the key to start, the engine will not roll over?
When you turn the key to the run position, do you here the fuel pump prime, a humming noise from the gas tank?
Have you replaced any other electronic components, key cylinder, body control module?
Let me know.
Regards,

SOURCE: instument panel does not work

Hello,I will try to give my input.Try looking under the drivers side and passengers side of the dash.If not there look in the kick panels. The kick panels are as follows; To the left of your feet, sitting in the drivers seat, and to the right of your feet sitting in the passengers seat.If no luck finding the fuse box in the vehicle, look in the owners manual under fuses, and it will direct you to a page number,If you find out there is no other fuse box,or the fuses you find are all good, pull the cluster(where you where talking about, the gauges and ect.)and look for the bad ground. If I can be more helpful, please contact me >[email protected]

SOURCE: Low voltage, the battery runs low when running the car

What is the voltage you are reading? Is it below 13.2 or so? Also have you checked the current with the engine off to see if something else is working that should not be on. I ran across this twice while working on a truck and car. A relay that was wore out keep trying to close and would drain the battery every couple of months. Sometimes you can hear them clicking or buzzing. Touching them sometimes they are warm or real hot. But that is not a sure sign it is bad. In my Trailblaze they get hot but are ok. Another thougth is the belt on your alt, correctly set to spin it at the right voltage. I have ran across this many times lately with serpatine belts.

When I connect the battery the blinkers come on constantly glowing, nothing else works, check the fuses, the alternator fuse is blown, replace that, connect the battery fuse blows again. 2007 solara.

Bad alternator or short in alternator wiring. You much need a wiring diagram. Is that the car? Was in an accident? You may have pinched wiring or a wire shorted to ground. Try new fuse with alternator disconnected, then with key on, connect alternator-watch for sparks, or clicks, -you might want to have the alternator tested, just to be sure. You have to start somewhere...
Maybe a wiring short in the blinker system? Or is the fuse blowing an alternator fuse?

If they go out, you need to go back to that shop and have them repair it correctly. Apparently they had someone work on it that didn\'t know jack about installations. I imagine they didn\'t install a relay and hooked it up to the alternator directly and somehow grounded the alternator with something in the car. If your blowing alternator fuses, that is serious in most cases since the alternator puts out heavy amps. Be sure your using the proper amperage fuse for the installation as well. Try returning to shop that installed the stuff and don\'t let them get away with keeping your car that long. That is ridiculous and if your not happy with their attitudes, report them to the BBB.

Car problem

It sounds like your belt broke which not only ran the alternator, but also the waterpump. When the waterpump quit the engine got hot and siezed, I am sure that not having any oil helped the already dismal situation of your motor. I am confident that if you were to put a wrench on the front of the main engine pully that is attached to the crank shaft that it would not be willing to move. In short I would say it is time for a new engine.

I hope someone can point me in the right direction with my 2004 Mazda 6 issue. Two months ago, the terminals went bad and they were replaced. Then about a month ago, the battery died and was replaced. ...

it is possible that the low beam headlight bulbs went bad at the same time, need to check for power at the headlight connections. if no power it is possible that you could have blown a fuse since the car has had other electrical issues. also will want to check the dimmer switch on the steering column, it to may be bad not allowing the low beams to work.
