This sounds like a failing camshaft position sensor and weak crank shaft sensor .When crank shaft sensor gets weak it will stop functioning. When crank shaft sensor stops working then ECM will not control fuel system and the fuel will stop flowing. And this can cause the problem. When crank shaft sensor gets heated it will stop working, but when the car shuts off, the sensor gets cold and works for few minutes and sensor again gets hot and it stalls. ---------- Get the crank shaft sensor tested on your Chevrolet venture. ---------- There are many other possibilities for this stalling problem, but crank shaft problem is indicating in your case. My van won't start after driving a short distance, it will start again after 3 to 5 minutes but then will act like it's going to stall while I'm driving. What's wrong?

Hi Greg, I'm AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair in St Charles Mo

Greg, I read your complete message, but nowhere did I see that you replaced the Cam Sensor. The EGR will cause it to stall at stops but usually will not prevent it from restarting. I would try replacing the Cam Sensor before anything else. If you should need further assistance go to my website by clicking here: Auto Repair

The van will start and run for about 2 seconds and quit i changed fuel pump, filter, distubitor, cam and crank sensors and module

Gm vehicles have been known to have faulty anti theft security systems. One of the symtoms of this is when your vehicle starts for 1-5 seconds and then stalls. A good way to know if this is the problem is when you see a light on the dash that says SECURITY. If you see this light flashing or on solid, this explains the van not starting. Suburban stalls while driving after running for 15-30 minutes. After letting it sit for 5-10 min it runs fine for another 5-10 minutes, then starts doing it all over again.

a bad crank sensor can cause this. shuts off while going down road, and will start about 10 min, later with no problems runs fine until it quits again. hope this helps,

2001 dodge grand caravan stalls

Check the sensors on the throttle body. There is a sensor that controls air to fuel ratio. If that sensor is bad then the car will run and then stall out while in drive. I had the same problem when it was cold outside last winter. If you dont want to dish out the money without knowing if it is that part at fault or not then start the van pop the hood and located the throttle body. Place your hand on the sensors and give them a little shake and then make sure they are plugged in all the way. You could also turn the van off and unhook the sensor clean the connectors and plug it back in. That should do the trick and if it doesnt stall anymore then I would replace those sensors if I was you. One more thing. If your giving the sensors a tug while the car is running and you hear it going to stall you could located the gas pedal cable and give it a rev or two by hand so it doesnt stall out and turn off. By the way. You van isnt over heating at all is it?

Stalling

Possibly faulty ignition module is the problem, stalls when engine is hot when you sit for a while it cools off and runs again until it heats up again, those are usually the symptoms of a bad ignition module and after a while it may give out all together and not run at all, usually if the module is at fault it shuts down the fuel pump so the engine don't load up with fuel, do to when engine continuously cranks over the injectors never stop squirting fuel and flood the engine do to lack of spark which is produced by the module, this could possibly be your problem.
