Toyota Corolla VE 1999

Thanks my friend,

Yes there is red LED light in the car by the steering wheel. That light is on when the engine is off and doors are locked. I will check thoroughly the switch you mentioned, but I do not remember if I have seen it.

Ok, If the LED is Solid on red that mean the alarm is in the valet mode .do you know want brand alarm you have?

I have 99 corolla with aftermarket alarm. I found that little switch and played with it while the car keys were in start poition. I tried to find out what it was for. I think I messed something up. The red light is now always on when the car is locked...I think before it was just blinking for a few seconds. How can I restore the system?

I would change the battery and make sure it has a good charge. Or take that battery to auto parts store and have them test the battery to make sure it is good. If it is, have them do a fast charge. If that don't work I say you might have a grounding issue

Check the fuse in the fuse box.
The fuse box is under the steering wheel or under the front hood.

sounds like you need to replace the power steering pump,of not overheating or loosing coolant,would check water pump,if no power steering sonds like the pump is bad,mechanic depepnding on their ability could change for you,up to you if you want to pay a shop to replace pump.

How can i adjust the steering wheel for a 2002 toyota corolla ce

This is actually a question. My son is 16 and is 6 foot 3 and he is getting my toyota corolla. The problem we have is with his legs hitting the steering wheel which makes it difficult for him to drive. I would get him a different vehicle but we don't have the funds to do so and I want to keep the car in my family as its a great running car! So is there anyway at all to move the steering wheel up or are we screwed? I could really use an honest answer! Thanks

You may want to try checking the gas filter because my car also had that problem and it was the gasoline filter that had somehow got water in it and was completly damaged. I'm not a complete expert but I'm only basing myself on what my car had that did exactly the same thing as yours.

Yes it does, there should be a black small button under the drivers dash .could be hidden so look with a light, once you find it you need to turn your ignition on then turn it off and press the button within 10 seconds the LED should turn off and the alarm should be working normally

Ok ,Is there red LED lite in the car for the alarm system? if it's an after market alarm there could be a bypass switch under the drivers panel that you could of hit accidently that would put the system into a valet mode . this switch would put the system into a door lock and unlock mode only. So look under the driver's dash or side kick panel for a switch or button, you would need the car on to switch it back

1999 toyota corolla Horn doesn't work.

Usually the wire from the steering wheel is Green w/Red and the wire to the horn from the fuse box is White. There is only one fuse, sometimes shared with the emergency lights. Check to see if there is power to the horn itself with a volt meter.
