2004 Envoy AC works but does not come out the front vents. Only @ windshield
I have a 2004 GMC Envoy XUV SLT. When I set the AC mode to come out the front vents to blow on me it only blows on the windshield and on the sides at the windows. Checked all fuses and all were fine. Switched out relays and still the same. Any suggestions? Thnx.

{: ) The popping sound you heard is caused by the sudden movement of an HVAC door, most probably coming from the recirculation door actuator (right dashboard area) or the mode actuator( mid dashboard area). The fan outputs could be normally working, but is being muffled by the incorrect positioning of the HVAC doors, giving an impression that there is fault in the blower controls. In other words, your vehicle is having an air distribution issue.
If there's no conflict in your climate settings, then the trouble may be in the HVAC doors binding or broken, or the actuators faulty or sticking. In both cases, servicing may involve removal of the dashboard to access these HVAC components.
There are two possible problems, a stuck blend door (this common) or the door controller has lost synchronization. The first requires disassembly of the dash and the second can be done with the following procedure' Pull the HVAC-B (#36) fuse for 30 seconds (located in the rear fuse panel under the seat), then
put it back in. Then turn the ignition switch to RUN (no need to start
the engine). Don't touch ANY controls for 90 seconds. I don't think it
matters what position the controls are in, but some people think it
works better if you have the HVAC system
turned off. After 90 seconds, the actuators have gone through their
paces, the controller has new memory data on the end stops of the
rotation of each actuator, and you might be good to go
I just changed my battery as well in my 04 Envoy XUV and the air on the passenger side would not blow. The air has since returned after I restarted but the flow on the bottom has been out for some time even before the battery change.
