DTC P1612 is a NATS (Nissan Anti Theft System) code.
Cycle the key ON for a second than OFF for 10 do this until the security light goes out.

If not you will have to key the key reprogrammed.

Hope this helps to solve it.

  • NATS stands for Nissan Anti Theft System. What's happening is the anti-theft immobilizer is not reading your car keys.

  • First if you just had a new key made then reset the light and see if it returns.

  • A weak battery or bad grounds in the engine bay can cause this code as well. So check them first.

  • If all else does not work the you have to get a new key because the chip in your key is bad. I recommend calling around to some locksmiths as some can do this and when they can it is often half the price of the dealership but tis key programming cannot be done at home.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Problem code p1320 came up on my diagnostic

sounds like one of your ignition coils are starting to fail, try and find a good price for all 6 on ebay

MIL (check engine light) "ON" with DTC P1320 stored in the ECM Intermittent spark knock (detonation)
  • Check the ECCS wiring harness for a broken or damaged wire.
    1. If the ECCS harness has a broken or damaged wire that is causing the symptom(s) noted above, repair the harness and verify the incident is resolved.
    2. If the ECCS harness does not have a broken or damaged wire and is NOT causing the symptom(s) listed above, proceed with step 3 below.
  • Replace ignition coil(s) with the one(s) listed in the Parts Information table, and verify the incident is resolved.

    Car won't start

check first the ground connections and the terminals if they are loose. Check also the starter relay and its cables. Have the starter capacitor checked. If that does not resolve it go to the starter motor and have it checked.
