Re: Horn doesnt work chevy avalanche
- The junction box under the hood Udrivers side by the battery) has a relay and a fuse that is the power feed for the horn. Start with checking them.

I have same issue…replaced the horn. I know it works, but it still wont work when I press steering wheel and the fuse box diagram does not show a relay?? I can hear a clicking sound at the fuse box for about 30 seconds then fuse blows… even popped off the center cover on steering wheel but being a newer model, there’s nothing there. Any suggestions are welcome.
Make , model an year of your vehicle ? Let's start with that . What fuse pop's ? number fuse an location - underhood fuse box , instrument panel fuse box ? If a fuse pop's you have a electrical short circuit. something in that circuit is touching ground (metal ) . Some newer vehicles have non serviceable relays , PCB - printed circuit board relay's , soldered right on the circuit board inside the fuse box.
Also newer vehicles the horn switch wiring goes through the clock spring inside the top of the steering column ,would need to pull steering wheel to get to it. Besides horn not working is the air bag light staying on with the vehicle running ?
