2002 saturn vue starts. but all lights on dash turn on. the gauges go up, but then they all go down. if i do try to drive the car with no gauges, the steering is locked and the brakes are locked. ive been trying to start my car for 3 hours now. like i said, it starts. but everything on the dash is lit, gauges dont work, and steering/brakes are locked.

The vibration is caused by the rotors being warped. Remove the front tires and check the front brake pads. Replace if needed. This is a pretty straight forward job. The rotors are "fall off" rotors and you won't need anything special tool wise.

The fuel tank has 2 different fuel level senders(floats) It needs both of them. You have to drop the tank, and pull the pumps.

Yup. The throttle body connectors have a history of failing on these cars. Replace the throttle body and the wire connectors that go to it, and you're back in business. Not terribly difficult and you can get the parts from any dealer. Saturn actually has a bulletin out on this problem but they won't cover it unless you're under warranty - no recall for this.

Under the intake manifold,  it will need to be removed.  Not too hard to do for the average diy but recommend buying a repair manual as a guide.  you will need a 1/4" drive T30 torx socket with a long extension one of the bolts is hidden but the others are under the black cover on the top of the intake.  you will also need to remove the coil pack held on with torx bolts.  8 or 10 inverted torx socket needed for that.

i am a saturn tech and ive never heard of this concern,the columns do go bad but they just set a ses light and cut out power,the column could be bad,it could also be the intermediate shaft u joint binding,,,i rec take to dealer, could be serious
