When replacing a radiator fan motor do i need to get a 2 speed fan

Always best to replace like for like if not electrically minded. If it had a two speed fan originally, I'd replace it with a two speed fan.

My cooling fan on my 2002 Lincoln ls 3.9 is hydraulic and I believe it's going out.. Is it a good idea to replace it with an electric cooling fan plyz help

I can only say that if this system uses the old style oil filled fan clutch that has been used for over 50 years, the method of testing is to measure fan shaft rpm against engine rpm. When the air temp is cold, the fan clutch is suppose to slip to prevent over cooling the engine. If the fluid runs out from a leak, the blade clutch can no longer lock and you lose air flow.

The electric fan is an option, but many cars have both systems because there is just too much heat to get rid of. Room is always a problem. Some electric fans have 2 speeds, largely dependent on getting sensors to work at 2 different temperatures.

Air Conditioning question

Let's do the overheat first.
Your van should have 2 electric fans or maybe 3, under the hood and directly mounted to the radiator.
There are usually two behind the radiator, and one in front, or visa-versa.
One of these fans is supposed to kick on immediately when you start your AC. It is probably not doing so.
The 2 things that usually cause it to fail are a bad relay or a bad fan motor.
While you are checking all this, be sure to check the other fan and fan switch (screwed in to the bock) and make sure it is working right.
The second part is much harder.
Here in Florida, where it is nearly always AC weather, I've noticed that when the van gets hot, it can take 1/2 hour to cool it. ( 100 degrees).
I have found some cars just never really cool down, so I make a real effort to always park in a shady spot and/or under a tree, and that makes a big difference in the passenger comfort.
Some car pats stores sell a dash-mounted electric fan, the kind people used 70 years ago.
Be blessed.

Benz fan not workin over heating change fan 2 times electrical problem said meanic

There is also a fan relay, which you have to check. Benz relays burn out very quickly indeed compared to most other brands, and this is commonly, albeit not always the issue.

How to fix the heater?

is it full of antifreeze? is your engine fan working? does it get hot with no cooling down? even when you turn engine off? with engine off!!!open hood, grab fan see if it has back and forth play,if so,,,fans bad or water pumps bad. some camaro's have an electric fan,you may only have a blown fan fuse,or a bad fan.check fan fuse 1st then if it does'nt work after you run the motor nad the temperature guage goes up, check the electrical connections, if you have a mechanical fan,you should be able to shake it, front to back, if there is play or wobble in the fan,it's bad! replace the fan and that will repair your problem. if not that, and it turns out to be electrical, fuses 1st connections next, thermostat next,,hope this helps, merry christmas, and as always please repost your question if your not happy with the solution i've supplied.

Electrical fans

The cooling fans always receive power form the battery. The relays, when applied, allow the ground to pass onto the fan motors to operate them. Either your relays are stuck in the "active" position, or your fan motor wires (white with the black trace) are getting an unwanted ground. Remove all 3 of the relays, and the magnet clutch relay, see what happens. If the fans quit, the relays are at fault. If the fans continue to run, you have a fan motor ground wire shorted to the ground.
