2007 hyundai santa fe 2.2 crdi.the coolant is filling the expansion tank to the point of overflow.The temp of the car is fine.heater works perfect.there was a new rad fitted about 2 months ago.I bled the system for air but no change.The rad hoses seem to be very hard as well.Rad was fitted due to a crash but it did not over heat then.Any pointers please.

Hi Mark, I've just had the same problem with my 2007 Sante Fe. After replacing water pump, radiator, thermostat, etc, turns out it was the cylinder head gasket. No water in oil, but engine pressurises the water system, blowing water out the overflow. Cheers

SOURCE: heater problem

is your heater set on defrost this will cause your engine fan to run because it turns on the compressor for air conditioner this helps to extract moisture from your warm air defrost  and the fan in the engine compartment helps keep it the engine cool from the extra load on the engine this is normal

How do I add antifreeze to a 2001 hyundai santa fe?

The antifreeze should be added into the overflow reservior the large plastic tank, add the coolant up to the full line, there is two plastic tank the other is for the washer fluid, make sure you add it to the correct tank.
