2007 G6 Altinator or Strarter?

My daughter was playing around in the vehicle and must've left a light on or something. 5 hours later, the car wont start and there's no electrical working. I tried jumping it, with cables hooked up, got electric working, but just a "click" when trying to start it. I unhooked the cables, and the thing is dead again, no charge at all. Would it be the altinator and if so, would I need to replace it or is there a way to recharge it. OR is it something with the starter since the car does get juice just doesnt hold it?
FYI-- I have the 4-door, not convertible

2007 pontiac g5 gt just had ignition replaced due to recall now 48 hours later it wont start. . battery fully charged

ignition replaced ???? Ignition switch , the electrical part or key lock cylinder and key ? left switch on 10 minutes ???? That won't work on your vehicle ! Light's lit on insturment cluster ? Car with padlock symbol ,check engine ,service engine soon etc.... The starting system on your vehicle is computer controlled as many fuctions are ! The ignition switch is a low voltage input to the BCM - body control module . Your best bet , take it back to the dealer .

THE ALTINATOR ON MY PICKUP TRUCK IS NOT PUTTING OUT AMPS TO THE AMP METER. THE BATTERY IS NEW AND THE ALTINATOR IS NEW ALSO, WHY WON'T THE ALTINATOR PUT OUT AMPS ?undefined

What model and make is your truck?
Older vehicles differ widely from later ones. Is the regulator separate from the alternator? If so, you might need to replace the regulator.
On some vehicles, the regulator was booted by the indicator lamp on the dash. If the light does not work (blown), the alternator does not charge.

Hi, I own an accent CRDi '03. My problem is that, engine wont start in the mornings. But it does start on jump starting and push start. After that it runs normally and starts normally. I've checked...

Hi, I think you have a bad altinator or eletrical short which drains your battery over night, once you jump start your vehicle the altinator charges your battery enough that it starts all day but if it is parked for longer time the battery drains.

Our 2007 odyssey the battery died after only one year. Bought new one now four days later car won't start again. We left no lights on or radio, not even the dvd player. What's wrong with this...

Battery might have died cause the altinator is not charging 14+V Please charge the battery, donot boost the dead battery. After charging the battery check the altinator output.

Clicking sound when trying to start 1987 jeep cherokee.

Probably is the electrical side. Start your vehicle, with the engine running disconnect the positive battery cable. If the engine dies then your alternator is the problem, if engine continues to run the battery is at fault.
